Are guns your passion?

"a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything :a passion for music."

Lets see...
I get out of bed put on shorts and a Glock (17/22) goes on my belt.
Eating breakfast, posting on THR that Glock is on my belt.
Walking the dogs, errands, in the FL heat, Glock is on belt.
Lunch, posting on THR, you guessed it, Glock on belt.
Watching TV in the evening, Glock still on belt, despite being in a "good area".

Does that sound like a strong fondness for something? Yea, and I'm enthusiastic about doing it right.

Yours is more a Glock addiction.

Its not Glock, its carry*; it could be a 1911 (I have several) in place of the Glock.

*It could not be a 38 snub (revolver) or pocket 32/380 in place of that Glock because I said I'm enthusiastic about doing it right. ;)

Firearms to me, well, I often say I love them, yet that in itself isn't true.
Like saying I love my car, and still my feeling toward firearms is more than that, but far short
of what love is. That belongs to my family and my country.
To me it is a representation of what America stands for along with the freedom of speech, first and second.
I thought I was a Gun Guy until I joined this group. Some of you guys are REALLY into guns, like way
out there, but not in a bad way. To me it is more like a hobby compared to many of the experts here, yet I have
a collection most people would really get into.
Some of you are so deep on reloading and gunsmithing and every aspect of firearms that
I feel like a rookie wishing I had learned all this a long time ago, but it is what it is.
Just feel lucky to be a member here, even if I rub some the wrong way sometimes.
But I see by the many threads that everyone has a lot of different opinions but all for the same goal.

I wouldn’t say that I actually love guns. But I will say this, I’m as close to my guns as I am my knives, and that’s about as close as a man gets to an inanimate object.

Passionate? You bet. My "passion" has grown and has taken over more space in my house than I planned; the garage too. Don't have enough room for all the reloading, but can't find reloading components so the growth has slowed. The passion accelerated when I retired 10 years ago; I have more time and that pesky profession is no longer a factor. I'm always puzzled by guys who say they don't know what to do since they retired. Retirement allows me to pursue my interests, right? And what is that? Guns, reloading, etc. I tried fishing, which I has liked as a young man, but rarely go any more. In the last few years I've been trying to reduce the number of guns I own. But, it has actually grown:). My wife is a wonderfully supportive woman. At this point in my life (age 75) I suppose downsizing is in order, but how do you do that?

You know your a Gun Nut whenever you watch Matthew Quigley and Know thats a real person! 45-120! YES
Quigley was shooting a .45-110, not a .45-120. ;)
I have one just like it, only mine has my initials instead of Quigley's initials on it. My loving wife ordered my .45-110 Sharps for me from Shiloh Rifle Company for our 25th wedding anniversary - almost 26 years ago, BTW. :D

26 years ago! it’s time to pass it along to the next generation (me) can i at lease shoot a bucket with it, just ride it down the road and I’ll tell you when.

 Ha! Ha! Ha! Sorry, our youngest grandson, Aaron has already laid claim to my Shiloh-Sharps.;)
As long as I'm around though, you'd sure be welcome to "shoot a bucket with it" if you ever get out this way.:)

Hi, im Idahou and im.... gunoholic...

I do like guns so much, that i actually dislike how much i like tham :D

I was working in customer care (first day unemployed :D ) and im not technical or atletic type. So guns are something copletly out from my ussually area of focus. Yet, its comfortly challanging for me to look at technical side of this hobby (Forgotten weapons channel, homemade reapirs and upgrades of gun furniture and so...) and safety protocol makes it "head-cleaner" for me.

Saddly i dont have car or friends with same hobby, so im limited to indoor shooting range, which is expensive and just 25 m tunnel, which with costs limits fun.

So since im not shooting that much, its kinda loosing sence to get new guns + getting ammo is more and more challeging these days

In the end i spend a lot of time watching videos and reading about guns, while dreaming about new setup and also torturing myself with look at brownells carts which for few weeks now contains my latest dream setup and i dont have enough insanity to orfer it

It must be tough to be in the Czech Republic or other countries that guns aren’t as free as in the USA and have the passion for them. I feel for you. If you were close I’d offer you my range on the farm.

The GB and The VFR are my wife's.
Excellent, not only good taste in bikes, but in a wife as well.

My collection was only ever as large as five, now down to two. A Kaw W650 for the road, and a small Yamaha XT225 for on/off road riding.

To keep this gun related, I've learned through a bad experience not to carry when riding.

My passion with firearms started when I was 10 years old and shot my first .22 and has grown from there. I have always loved machinery and have been fascinated how it works. Guns are no different, and like car engines I went to school on how to properly and legally repair them. I have been gunsmithng, as a side gig for three decades and will do so into retirement.

Well, only real restriction here is market. In theory i can have even automatic weapon and even now i can just go to store and buy rifle without limitation in lenght or (smallarms) calibre.

The thing is... even that we have a lot cheap of surplus guns (Ak, Vz 58. DP-27, Mosins, SKS, SVD, PPsh, BM59, Garands, Beretta 38, Beretta M12, galil micro, M16, AUG A1 - to just name few from my local gun shop) and loads of new AR15, AR9, AR10 + some new AKs, guns are expensive (surplus not that much - about price of new iphone), ammo is expensive and we can shoot only on designated shooting range (but that makes sence over here due to population density) which are expensive (indoor, intown ones, outdoors are cheaper but for me out of hand). Things like Desert Tech MDRx are super expensive if they are on market at all. A lot of stuff just isnt here because its not worth it to import it - even accessories

Together with low violent criminality and high confidence in LE, guns are just niche thing here

Btw, if you are curious about surplus guns in czech you can check website of one of biggest supplier here
