By virtue of being on the internet, I think you're going to have a bias towards a younger result right off the bat.

I'm 29.
I shot my first real guns at 5, Sterling 22 and Ruger Single Six. Thanks dad!
Shot a pellet gun at 4... does that count?

I'm 30. I've only owned a gun for a few years, but in that time, I've done my best to learn what I can (and I've learned quite a bit from THR). I've had CCWs in SC and KY. I got my wife into shooting (she also has her KY permit). I got my brother to buy his first gun a couple of years ago. I feel like I'm playing catch-up, considering how long some of you have been pulling a trigger!

22 here. I grew up in a family forbidding firearms of any type, and after a trip to the Mojave Desert with a crazy uncle and a trunk full of guns, I decided that it was too much fun to ignore. Half a year ago I purchased my first revolver.

My very first time shooting I used a .50 bmg, 45-70 revolver, Marlin 450, a 2" .44 mag, 12 gauge, .45 ACP, .25 ACP, and .22LR.

I got some serious firepower on my first trip out and my arm hurt for weeks.

The age distribution probably has more to do with the demographics of people that frequent internet forums than it does with gun owners.

26

Don't own any guns yet, so I didn't vote up there. My dad is 47 and took me out shooting on Mother's Day, my first time. Kind of a strange day to go, but Mom probably enjoyed having a (mostly) empty house.
