“I have not taken my T38 apart to look. I'm assuming this is a threaded in barrel as this poor old rifle is a mutt. No matching numbers. Full length rifle barrel, Nagoya Carbine receiver etc.,

Anyhow, I'm thinking of looking for a carbine length barrel.

Thanks.”

I believe a good answer to his questions would have been: “You are correct in assuming the barrel is screwed into the receiver. good luck finding a barrel”, full length barrel, Nagoya carbine receiver, looking for a carbine length barrel??? Nothing about the information provided by the OP lead me to believe he did not know anything about replacing/removing barrels.

I walked into a gun repair shop, the smith had the barrel stacked on top of the receiver and was about to press the barrel into recover, and I ask, “Why don’t you pull the barrel on, the chance of keeping it straight and aligned are greater when the work is shortened” I was not on the Internet, there is nothing about being on the Internet that entitles me to be rude, when I do not understand the question I take the liberty to ask questions. Then there are times when I believe I am approached in a manner rather rude.

Clemson, thank you for taking the time, Twmaster, knows his limitations, I do not believe he started out to build a barrel, just replace one, when replacing the barrel there will be indexing something like P14s, M1917s and 03s etc., etc..
