Bear creek arsonal uppers. Good?

My upper is on the way. Should be delivered Weds. No word from PSA on my lower yet. I'll put the upper on my SW lower and get the scope in for now. Also my 20 round mags from Gun mag warehouse are due in today.

I recommend you get an extra enhanced firing pin for the rifle. My original one from BCA must have been over hardened as the tip sheared after a few rounds. Even though the free replacement from BCA worked without issue, I have replaced all my AR firing pins with enhanced pins from RedX and keep my originals as backups.

Take a look at the FAB Defense Spike bipod. You get a whole lot for your $.
I just looked at that one, video and all. It's nice but it may exceed my requirements for such a tool by a wide margin (primarily bench shooting). Can't hurt to keep it in mind though.

I recently assembled a PSA lower with a Bear Creek Arsenal upper and the combination is not only relatively inexpensive but extremely good looking and great shooting. I have shot over 100 rounds with it without any misfires or jams. Accuracy has more than exceeded any of my original expectations.
All I wanted was an inexpensive, reliable battle rifle to play with but it is much more than that. I am consistently hitting a 3-inch bullseye at 100 yards with open sights and the fun factor is huge.
I haven't read too much on BCA products but as far as my experience goes they are very reasonably priced and excellent performers.

My 6.5 Grendel upper came earlier in the week. I was on the Bear Creek website a little while ago (trying to figure out the M-Lok stock and how to mount a bipod and/or sling) and noticed that the price jumped $20 since I ordered it. Sometimes impulse buying saves you money!

I ran a few patches through the barrel and bore scoped it. Lots of tool marks but I knew I wasn't getting a Kreiger going in. Six groove rifling BTW. I have 4 lowers with good triggers that I'll swap onto the 6.5 as need be. I have 20 PPU brass that I'm going to load and get her sighted in until I can lay in a supply for this rifle. I found some rings and an old Simmons 4x to get me started until my card gets into a new billing cycle.

I just patched mine. Carbon came out. I looked down the bore i could see the carbon with just a light. So i put some Hoppes elite in. Left it sit for 30 mins. Blue came out too. I hope i didn't get a return. If they test fired. I would think they would clean it.

If you are target shooting, the Barnes 120 grain match burners are real accurate in all my Grendel barrels (27 grains of TAC). They are also one of the cheapest Grendel bullets available.

My first patches were dirty but not too bad. I didn't use a copper remover, per se. When I scoped it it was bare steel with no sign of copper.

I have some of those and will give them a try. It seems the only brass available at the moment is Nosler, and I'm not going to shoot $2 brass in a gas gun. I'm in no hurry and can mess around with the few PPU brass that I have.

ETA: went over to Ammoseek and found some 7.62x39 mixed brass for $0.37 a pop, shipped. Thats more my style considering the intended use. Inspection for Berdan primers will be required, but the reviews don't seem to report that as a big problem.

Watch starline's website. From time to time they put the brass on "backorder" but it generally ships within a week or two.

When playing with the Match Burners, seat to about 2.20". They have a long bearing surface and usually can't be seated anywhere near as long as stuff like the 123 grain ELDMs.

I bought 200 casings from Graff and sons a few months ago.PPU . And 100 for my Argentine Mauser. As well as 7.62x54. I been getting free shipping from them for doing product reviews.

I put a BCA upper on a PSA lower and can't complain.
This is the description of the upper I bought 3 years ago.
I'd buy another one if I needed an upper.

Well i took it out. Started out at 25 yards, Got it close enough. Then moved to 50 yards. I was using up what S&B i had left. After it was used up. Went my loads. They jammed on the feed ramp. Im going to play with seating depth until i get them to feed.

Out of curiosity, what bullet are you using and what OAL where you loading to?
