Destroying your Yeti cooler is symbolic, as is destroying a firearm. Not a big deal to just buy another brand of cooler. It is a big deal to destroy one you already paid a few hundred dollars for.
So if you buy a $300 cooler you can afford to destroy one? If you have something nicer than a $30 Walmart cooler, you have money to burn? Therefore the symbolic destruction really has little meaning? That's an odd and potentially insulting generalization to make. I can "afford" a Yeti cooler but I didn't get that way by throwing money away.People who can afford a Yeti cooler can afford to destroy them and buy another brand cooler...
I wonder who has contributed more to anti-gun politicians, Benchmade or our current President?
Why does one get a pass and the other doesn’t?

There seems to be very little tolerance for that kind of thinking on gun forums. I expect you'll get considerable blow-back even tho it's a good question to ask. I had a bad experience when I pointed it out on another forum so be careful how far you go with that.

So apparently Benchmade has decided to salt the earth this week, and alot of folk are not happy with them volunteering for this, the post was yanked in short order.
Any thoughts

Their knives are seriously overpriced for what they are. If I ever spend serious money on a pocket knife my $ will go to ProTech of Santa Fe California.
The best analogy I can think of is euthanizing kittens. Do you think there would be any business agree to help out the Animal Control folks in accomplishing this task? Well why not, it's going to happen anyway after all, what is the big deal?
To me, the problem is less about "every company" than it is about hypocrisy. I do not expect the manufacturer of my refrigerator to necessarily identify with my politics. I certainly don't expect it from those whose job it is to make the music I enjoy. However, I do expect companies in the business of shooting, self-defense, or related accessories to walk their actual or implicit talk when it comes to 2A.
Political opponents I can deal with squarely. Traitors I cannot abide.
