Last week I posted about the police trade in Glock 17 Gen 3 that I picked up.
Here’s a link if you missed the topic.

I had done a full detail strip and cleaning on the gun.
One of our members, JQT, remember that I have a Beretta APX and asked about how the two guns compared in ease of disassembly and cleaning.
He also mentioned that he had seen the video by Galloway Precision on installing their Striker Guide, and that the Beretta slide seemed pretty easy.
I watched the video and the replacement striker guide got my attention.
I looked up Galloway Precision and saw that the striker guide was only $20 and shipped free.
Well that was on January 31st and I ordered the part. It arrived today February 3rd.
I got out the APX and 10 minutes later I had the new striker guide and spring installed.
Hey JQT, the Beretta APX is easy to disassemble, but the Glock is a little easer.
I do have to say that the trigger does break a little cleaner and a bit lighter. I’m going to take it to work tomorrow and put a few rounds through it.
Here are a few pics.

The Beretta Striker Guide is made of a polymer and flexible and has a captured spring. The Galloway rod is stainless steel.
I’ll post an update tomorrow on how it shoots.

Thanks for the feedback, and looking forward to your shooting report.

I have to say that it definitely makes a difference.
When dry firing, you feel a little bit of vibration from the striker with the APX. But when firing you don’t feel it. This was pretty much the same with the new striker guide rod, but the trigger broke cleaner and the reset a little shorter.
I just put a few rounds through it to get the feel of the trigger, and will say that it was well worth the $20 spent.
In the pic. the group on the left is the first and the group on the right was the last. It took a few rounds to get the feel for the trigger.
I have some coworkers coming in today that have shot my APX before. I’ll get them to shoot it and see what they think.

I shot my G17 gen 4 side by side with the APX full size. Both are stock. The APX shot amazing. Such a underated pistol for $329.99. I will have to order the upgraded striker. I am thinking about replacing my trusty ol 19 with the APX centurion.

I tried one and didn't care for it. I actually felt it made the trigger worse. So, I removed it and put in the Beretta "green" competition version, which helped a little. I just traded my APX on a Walther PPQ 5" at Kittery, so I can make you a heck of a deal on the Galloway striker guide assy.

>>What kind of deal<<

How about you PM me your particulars and I'll pop it in the mail to you. BTW, I'm in NH, and we can buy from Kittery.

Actually, the outpost is over the bridge in Portsmouth. You pay for the gun in Kittery, a transfer driver brings it to Portsmouth, and you do the 4473 on that end.

There is also the Beretta Competition Firing Pin Spring Assembly

Here's the Italian's installing it

This is a lot better and is cheaper than the Galloway striker spring in my opinion and in everyone's opinion over on BerettaForum who has tried both... I have the green BerettaUSA competition striker spring in my carry gun which is a APX Centurion. I have the Galloway Precision in my full size APX. I plan on selling off the Galloway and replacing it with the BerettaUSA version. It made the trigger worse than stock IMHO.

It replaced and leaped frogged over a bunch of my other pistols.... I'll admit that initially only purchased mine because it was under $300 with the $100 rebate at the time, but after shooting it and later, completely breaking it down to clean it, I was so impressed that I purchased another one.

I agree with you brother... That seems to be the consensus. Like I said, I plan on dumping mine too. The only plus about it is that it's stainless... I wish Galloway would sell one with a spring that's identical to the BerettaUSA's competition striker assembly...
