I know it's off topic, but I saw the last post by "jojosdad" and I just had to say "Dad, is that you?" :what:

Now back on topic, I'd say Kimber CDP

Have to vote for the Para LTC in either alloy or steel. Can't carry under 4" otheriwse I would go with a 3 1/2 " Para. HAve Norinco commander that fits the bill but isn't much lighter than my Para SSP.

Another vote for the Taurus PT145 Mill-Pro. I disagree that is G36 size. Its smaller than that IMHO. I carried a G27 for over 6 months, and the Taurus feels the same if not slightly smaller. The grip is taller, but I was using a Pearce +1 extender on the G27 so its a wash.

Wow, that is a mighty fine pistol you have there! :)

Where does Taurus rank in quality? How are their prices?

I like that 10+1 capability in a compact .45acp.

Hi!

I'm new to this forum and love what I have seen. I have been a fan of Oleg's web site for quite a while (GREAT WORK!).

Concerning the Taurus Millenium Pro PT-145, I purchased one about 8 months ago NIB at the local gun show for $359, have put approx. 1000 rounds through it without a single problem, and absolutely LOVE it. It's my primary carry weapon (secondary is my .357 snubby). Once I got used to the trigger, life was great.

I know all about the older generations of this model and the polymer cracking problems. I gave Taurus a while to work out the kinks. GLAD I did!

Easy to conceal, very reliable, 10+1 .45 capacity. What's not to love?

Like the old commerical said: Try it, you'll like it.

jetdriver and Jim,

Do you both have the rail on yours? Is it functional? My MilPro 145 has the smooth rounded front? Just curious if there is a newer or older version that had the accesory rail on them. I was thinking about getting the new 24/7 in .45ACP to go with the MilPro. I might contact Taurus about getting a new grip, so I can swap an M3 between them.

Thanks

steelhead:

Mine has the rail. I honestly didn't notice until I got home and disassembled and cleaned it before my first use. When I did notice I thought, "Cool!"

The Taurus site doesn't show any Millenium Pro's with rails......Kind of weird.

I think they started doing this to help strengthen the polymer frame, like S&W did with the enhanced Sigma series.

Mine is the blued version. I called Taurus and asked if I could purchase a stainless slide and was told I couldn't get one without purchasing a whole weapon. Oh, well, I tried.

Let us know what Taurus says. It would be interesting.

I have some pics of the pistol on the Taurus Talk forum if you would like to take a peek.

Thake care!

Jim

Guys, what is the measurement from the bottom of the magazine to the top of the slide? I may have to take a trip to the gun store to check one of those bad puppies out! :)

I just have to add my 2 cents worth. My ccw of choice has been the Para C-7-45 LDA. Have carried it in Galco Scout behind right hip for 2 years with no complaints about weight. Great reliability and accuracy, and the feature I like most, the LDA trigger and frame mounted safety allowing for "Mexican" carry without fear (real or imagined) of AD when securing pistol in waistband.

2nd choice, S&W 4513 TSW for the same reasons.
