I'd like to buy a Browning Hi-Power, but my budget requires I keep the cost under $1000. I have heard good things about the Regent BR9 clone and also the (mostly) Israeli surplus BHPs. This would mostly be a range gun with a fairly low round count, but I might consider it for winter EDC under a jacket. I would be interested in pros and cons of both the TISAS clone and a refinished surplus MK-II. I will probably remove the magazine safety disconnect. Would this void any warranty on the BR9? I'm willing to consider other clones, but the TISAS seems to be readily available at a decent price comparable to the refinished surplus weapons.
