Bloomberg's gun control group spends $15M on campaigns in eight swing states

That is correct. However, a Democratic majority in the Senate does not translate into a gun control majority. There are a number of Democratic senators from gun-friendly states (including most of the prospective newly-elected ones) that would not automatically go along with a gun control agenda. The broadening of the Democratic party that we may see this fall will mean that it will become less antigun.

That is, if you trust the Dem's (or any politicians for that matter) to do as they say, not as they're told. We've seen plenty of them exiled when they go against the party. Political banishment is tougher on re-election chances than broken promises are.

Hey, I drive a Subaru...

I'm more wary of Volvo station wagon drivers...

If a Senator wants to advance legislation, get assigned to certain committees, or get assistance for re-election campaigns, he has to play ball with the party, and for the most part, Senators will support what the party tells them to.

Where do you get the idea that the Democratic Party is broadening? The past four years have shown them being pulled further left by the radical fringe. They used to say "no one wants to take your guns" but now many of them openly admit they would like to take at least some of them. Democrat members of Congress have encouraged their followers to harass Trump supporters. A few are not only openly advocating more socialist policies, but call for doing away with capitalism. Anyone who isn't 100% in lock step with their social views are labeled as racist, sexist, or some other kind of bigot. The left supports stifling anyone with disagrees with them (hate speech). In the past couple months, as cities burn, Democrats have supported mob rule. Democrat Senators have called for changing the rules to allow passing legislation by simple majority, and adding seats to the Supreme Court. Biden says that he will give citizenship to all illegal aliens and decriminalize border crossings which will create 15-20 million more Democrat voters.

No, the Democrat Party is becoming more totalitarian, and if they gain control of all three branches of government, gun rights, along with many others, will get steamrolled.

The U.S. doesn't have British-style party discipline. That's because Congress members won't get reelected if they stray too far, politically, from their districts or states. And, the fact is, AOC-endorsed progressives have had a terrible record in winning Democratic party primaries. More often than not, the moderates have been winning. The big gains for the Dems in 2018 were in suburban, formerly Republican, districts. That's because educated women and white-collar professional men have been fleeing the GOP because of Trump. These are not radicals. Don't be misled because AOC, et. al., are hogging the headlines. Their appeal is limited to a few urban districts. That's not where the party is going, in general.

We're not looking at a "blue wave" election this fall. We're looking at a "blue tsunami." The question for gun rights advocates will be, "How do we deal with this new reality?"

First, get off the kool aide.

The Dem party WILL take what ever, when ever, and by any means they can, guns and gun rights.

You are not fooling anyone.
Second, the Dem is IS NOT broadening. I, myself, am a reformed Democrat. I was one most if my life. I'm in a union, which paid for my education, and provided me with a damn good living after. So, I voted for worker issues more than anything else, but I was still conservative, gun owning, and a loyal American.

Fast foward to the post Obama Dem party...all my fellow union brothers and sisters are not Dem any longer, will not vote Dem even if they put JC himself on the ticket. The damage Obama did is immeasurable, then they put Hildabeast on the ticket.

We didnt leave the party, the party left us.

The GOP has come along way actually doing the things that the Dems promised to do, but never did.

So, No..the Dem party is not expanding, they are losing members. People who used to be their most solid hardcore diehards.

Pretty hard to hang onto them when your platform is Gun grabbing Socialism.
