Bore tech C4 for carbon.

I always start my barrel cleaning regimen with some carbon solvent. Mainly Slip2000 Carbon Killer but I did get some C4 recently. The time I tried the C4 I didn't think the patches came out as black as the CK, but I'm still not convinced either way. I truly love the Boretech products so I'll give it another chance.

Soaking a carbon fouled AR bolt in the CK does save a ton of scrubbing!

There is no "magic" formula, any of the name brands will work. Mechanical (brush) is what removes most fouling.
What ever solvent let it sit a work for a few minutes.

Revolver, pistol or rifle?

Why so much carbon??

The losso and JB bore paste is what gave me the idea to try the Mothers. Im starting to see bare metal now. The fouling is on the lands. I would think it would have been caked in the groves.

I used to have some Slip 2000 Carbon Killer, and it worked well, I've been using C-4 lately and like it, but I still have to use a bronze brush, and JB on patches or those felt dohickies to get the heavy carbon out. Maybe if you let it soak a week, but who has that kind of time.

Im working on my 770 30.06 now. The carbon wasn't bad in it.Hoppes elite worked this time. I do have blobs of lead. I think it's from them coated bullets i had bad smoking with. I put kroil in the bore last night. I'll be working at it soon.
