HEY! I'm going to have to write my representative and thank him for doing such a good job! :D
CO: Wayne Allard (R) - 100% AGAINST Brady type legislation. :D

Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) 100% Brady Support (10 votes)
Barack Obama (D-IL) 100% Brady Support (1 vote)
John McCain (R-AZ) 17% Brady Support (29 votes)

So, yeah, McCain's closer to being "our guy" than the other two... But, the votes where he did side with Brady are pretty telling.

McCain Amendment to Require Background Checks at Gun Shows
Because private property sales between private persons are hunky-dory as long as they aren't sales ofteh gunz! Oh, no!

Boxer Amendment to Require Child Safety Devices for Handguns
Because the bruglar understands yo have to protect the Children and will happily wait as you unlock your firearm.

McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform
Better known as the Incumbent Protection Act.

Schumer Amendment to S. 254
Banning sales of private property by private persons over this vast series of tubes we call the internet.

So, yeah, McCain will let you own a gun. He just doesn't trust to to be able to buy it, sell it, store it, or vote about it.

The gun safety devices thing was a meaningless (literally) amendment so that PLCAA could be passed. It was pretty much a perfect example of the type of compromise our side needs to be making.

No, it was a cheap and meaningless pander to the anti-guns and the apathetic, so that politicians coudl say they "Got Things Done" and that they were "For The Children."

needs to be making? this sucks, I never thought my natural born rights (as in a part of the life, naturally occurring that inhabits my and everyone elses body) to continue to be alive would be part of a 'compromise'. i think our people need to wise up open, their eyes up, our people rise up, show what is right amd show how we feel about criminal/rapist/murderer/robber protection policies that have been put into place over the last several decades.

There is no "need" to pass laws just to make compromise. I would be happy if state and national legislatures met every five years and quit making so many laws. After 200+ years we have too many laws already. With 10,000 gun laws how much more compromise do you want.

What we need is to start getting rid of some laws, not making new ones. We shouldn't be compromising on laws that restrict basic individual rights like religion, speech, gun ownership, search, private property, etc. But we have; over and over again.

Let's "start a dialog" and "all come together" to figure out a way we can "rid oursleves" of these onerous laws that "burden the common man." :D

There is a web page that will boil my blood every time!!!

Firstly, I don't care about children, suicides, gang violence, homicides, or any other BS excuse to wipe ones liberal ass with the constitution. Children will kill themselves other ways (usually due to the same irresponsible parent in the first place), criminals will not be turning in their firearms and have knives for a backup, and ropes still strangle the weak minded.

Secondly, does our constitution stand for anything? Why do we bother? Why don't we just take it out of that pretty little glass container and burn it. If this Brady Campaign garbage goes through; forget it. We might as well take the first amendment away while we are at it. At least people like the Bradys would have to shut their mouths and keep their impractical ideas to themselves.

Overall, I think if weaponry and or arms were unregulated, it would put everyone on an equal playing field. The thug down the street would think twice before holing up the liquor store if he knew there was a good possibility of the owner and several patrons carrying guns. Eliminating all arms leaves gaps; like the criminals. Criminals are not going to surrender their arms (neither will I for that matter) because the government thinks it is a good idea.

Sorry if I offended anyone, but I get heated with this stuff.

Check your Representatives

Some strong opinions and beliefs posted here. Check the link in post one. See how your congressmen are voting. They are the ones that represent you where it counts. Your vote is important.

Don't Forget our other Congressmen ( and woman). Tom Tancredo and Marylin Musgrave have a long, SOLID pro-gun voting record. John Salazar also tends to vote pro-gun (he's a Democrat, but from a very rural area). John's Brother, Ken, is our other Senator, and thus far seems to favor RKBA.
