My Glock's tritium sights are winding down, has anybody used night sights paint? http://www.brightsights.com/index.shtml Is it good or bad and why? Thanks.

Buying new tritium sights seems expensive and the tritium sights are all the same color. i want the front and rear sights to be different colors.

I've tried the Ghost Glow and the regular high vis paints from Bright Sights. I like the high vis type for a periodic touch up on my XDs. Can't really say that I liked the Ghost Glow that much. They do work somewhat as a night sight, but I didn't think they were that visible in low light conditions, meaning the kind of light you would see at dusk, just before dark. They are also not as visible during daylight as the regular high vis paint. I used the Ghost Glow just once, still use the high vis regularly.

Back when I owned a Glock, I put a set of sights on it that had a green front lamp and yellow rear lamps.

There are other color combos available, plus differnt styles of sights. You may want to look at Heine Straight 8 sights, for example. There are also XS Sight Systems Big Dot type sights.

My CZ-75 has the glow paint stuff on it. It does not work well.

I'd go ahead and save up the money for a fresh set of nightsights.

get a set of nightsight's it "may" seem expensive, but Tritium's half-life is 12years.
you can also see how much it would be to get your old tritium vial replaced.

If your night sights are Trijicon they will replace the lamps even if the warranty is up. From the FAQ on their website:

The warranty on my night sights has expired. Can I get them recharged?

Tritium can not be 'recharged', however, we can replace the lamps for a nominal fee. Please contact our Customer Service Department for return and payment instructions.

I read somewhere on one of the boards that it's $17 per vial and they'll do it with the sights still in the slide. Trijicon has green, yellow, and orange lamps available. I use a green front with yellow rears.

Others may replace vials too. I would check with the manufacturer of your sights before proceeding.

I've never thought much of "glow in the dark" paints on a gun to be carried on my person. They require exposure to light first before they can glow. They will not get that riding in a holster under a cover garment.
