Can only have 3 guns

OP here,

First let me start my saying that I didn't realize that this topic would stir up so much anger. For that I am sorry. I did read a post that said this should be in general discussion forum . . . if so sir, then why are you responding? For the ones like Cfix, I have been married for 10 years now so it is not the "excitement of a new relationship" oppressive syndrome that you may think. I thought it was a reasonable compromise to sell the ones I didn't use in order to pay a few bills. I guess I didn't phrase the OP in correct fashion that actually portrayed the real circumstances. My wife has never been one to go out and shop till you drop...that would actually be me with my other high dollar purchases.

I started collecting many firearms when I was in the service and had never even fired more than half of them. They would literally be safe queens or nostalgic items. The compromise we had, yielded me the come to the conclusion that all I really needed (and couldn't live without) were these 3.

Thanks to all the real folks on here who responded in a "normal fashion" and actually care about their family. Sounds like to me there are some bitter people (and maybe rightfully so) that couldn't get past their selfishness and blame it all on someone else for their mishaps and failed relationships.

Springfield 1911 .45 GI, Parkerized
Winchester Model 70 30-06, Pre 64
Remington 870 Police Magnum (stronger action) 12 Gauge, With 28" Vented Rib Barell (more functional for ducks, phesant, geese, etc.)

Browning HiPower
Browning Auto5 Light12
Marlin 336 in 35 Remington

PS:
Remington 870 Police Magnum (stronger action)
Not really. Two parts (ejector and extractor, IIRC) are billet instead of MIM.

1) .22
2) AR15 w/ .223&.257.458 uppers
3) 1187

That said, I am a east coast man. There was a time in my life I was selling a gun a month to get the family by. I understand your pain. The best of luck to you and your family.

Mossberg 500
Ruger 10/22
Springfield Model 1903a3 made by Smith and Corona

marlin 336
taurus 905
marlin 60

These are my three if we are going on what we own. And yes I would and always put my family first, at least till they are out of the house...:D

H&K USP 40 or 45 (already have the 40)
Browning A500 12 gauage (recoil operated and never fails). Already have it.
Bolt action 30-06. Have an old Rem 700 that has always worked but would prefer a mauser claw type action like a good Model 70 or Kimber.

DPMS Lr-260 (or a custom AR-10 in 6.5x47 lapua) WITH a custom .22lr conversion kit.
Springfield Armory XDm 40S&W
Benelli super sport 12ga, or sagia 12.

Cooper M57 22lr

Only 3? That's tough...

Wilson Combat 1911
Bushmaster ACR, with the requisite caliber conversions
Custom-build .308 bolt gun

I would get a .22 rifle with a scope, this would be for practice and target shooting.
A 12 gauge shotgun like an 870, or maybe a reliable autoloader if you need one for target shooting. I'd keep this because it would double as my self-defense gun and hunting gun, if I was limited to 3 guns. (I live in a slug-only area) A 9mm like a g19, or .357 revolver. 9mm ammo is very cheap, .38 ammo is cheap but not as much as 9mm, and 9mm and .38s or .357s could still be used for self-defense. (No dangerous critters where I live.)

I would have to hope I was left with more than three after the divorce. I'm sur emy kids would eventually understand.

About a dozen years ago (oh how time flies) I met a guy at the range. He was a collector of M1 rifles. He really knew them too. He said that he laid them all out on the floor one day to inventory them and his wife was horrified. She said that either the guns would go or she would go. Did I mention that he was divorced?

If your wife has a problem with guns, you may have bigger issues to be concerned with. Perhaps you need councelling.

The premise is unacceptable, but these are my favorites excluding inherited guns (which she knows better than to even look at):

SIG Sauer P229 - .357 SIG
Benelli Super Black Eagle (Left Handed) - 12 Ga.
Browning A-Bolt II (Left Handed) - 300wsm
