Can only have 3 guns

atlanticfire, you are welcome to disagree with me: we all have our own opinions.

Glad to hear that you are junk-free. Sadly, most people do buy junky firearms. I myself still own an AR-7 that I bought when I was 17! :barf: What was I thinking?!

I'm not in favour of Big Brother telling you, or me, how many guns we can own. I'm just saying that it would not be the end of the world. Someone who owns a .270 Win is probably better off not owning a .280 Rem and a .257 Roberts as well: more guns equals less familiarity and (for most people) less money to spend on ammunition.

ffm303, perhaps you should consider moving away from that city, it sounds terrible.

sounds to me like someone is the victim of a succubus.

the request is simply unreasonable and lacks knowledge.

are you saying that you won't be able to buy any more weapons,EVER?how about ammo?parts? if so,i would concentrate on the same firearms, three of them, and as much ammo as i was "allowed".

i would take three AKs or one AK and two of the same 9mm pistols since the AK would outlast any stock of ammo your "significant" other would allow.

...but that's not the path i would take.

although this sounds to me like one of those cases were a weapon goes into a drawer and doesn't see the light of day for twenty something years.

Only 3? Gads...

I'm gonna have to do two lists... One of three guns I already have and one that I would have if I hit the lottery jackpot...

Real World List:
1. AK-47 (In case the zombies come...)
2. Beretta 92FS (Since I can legally open carry, I'd give up concealability for magazine capacity if I -HAD- to)
3. Mossberg 835 12 gauge shotty. (I have three barrels for it, so I can still hunt and hence eat. Ya know. If the zombies come...)

Fantasy Island List:
1. M14 DMR as issued by the Marine Corps. (Multi-purpose deadly accurate reliable rifle.)
2. Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded (Cause I just WANT one.)
3. Benelli M4 (Home defense and if push comes to shove I'm sure it'll kill a deer)

And on either list I'd hide the Remington Model 24 .22 that I inherited from my grandfather. That one doesn't count.

I would simply have said goodbye....

I could not and would not limit myself to 3.

But if I needed to reduce the number it would go something like this:

Remington 300 Mag
CZ 6.5x55 Swede
CZ 22-250
CZ 22LR
Browning 7Mag
Browning 270
Kimber 45
S&W 1000 12 ga.

Ok...perhaps I could get to just the above mentioned guns. Then again...probably NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A three-inch .357 Magnum S&W Model 13 with Lightning Grips.

A two-inch .38 Special +P Taurus Model 85.

A .32 ACP KelTec P32.

If I could only carry three guns, those would do nicely. And, I only have three .22 rifles. What? What do you mean he meant ONLY three guns?

Ridiculous!

If I could afford:
M1A /w detachable 14 power scope, detachable eotech sight. Both would have to return very close to zero.

9mm CZ P-01

.22 carbine

Ma Deuce, 12 gauge chambered for 3.5 inch magnums, quality1911.

Seriously though, I would negotiate for 4. Tactical 12 gauge pump, the highest quality/durability .22 rifle, I really like my Beretta 90-two .40, and a nice, high end 30-06. Then she gets to pick 3-4 for her to keep!

- Ruger sp101 3" .357
- 12 gauge with multiple barrels
- AR-10 or AR-15 in 6.8

Perazzi MX20/8 in 28 gauge - 30 inch barrels choked 1/4 and 3/4
An AR10 in 308 for hunting AND zombies
a hi-cap 9mm Glock XD or similar with a .22 conversion kit

That covers birds and clays, hunting and zombies, and SD/HD and plinking

This is, of course, AFTER she narrows her shoes and purses down to 3 each as well!....

Easy solution here. Agree to sell the "extra" guns. Sell them with a 1000 dollar markup. Apologize because no one is interested in buying them.

If I were to narrow it to three, it would be my 870 shotgun, Ruger 22/45, and 1911. I would dearly miss my GP100 (woods carry). I guess I really dont think I would miss my little XD SC or SKS. I rarely shoot or carry them.

I'd have a handgun, a 12ga. shotgun, and a rifle.
The specific configuration within that list is impossible to determine.
The handgun would either be .357 mag revolver, 9mm hi-cap semi or a 45acp hi-cap semi. Hard to decide. Glad I don't have to.
The shotgun would either be pump or semi auto, but would have to be a bird hunting gun that would double as my HD shottie. Hard to decide further. Glad I don't have to.
The rifle could be anything. A .270 for hunting, or an M1A that could double as HD/SHTF rifle and sporting use. Very hard to determine this one. Glad that I don't have to.

I'll just enjoy my arsenal as is.

I wouldn't advise selling anything unless you were sure to make a ridiculous profit on it.

Several times in my own past, I've sold off various items when I was in a pinch for cash, and I always regretted doing it. The money will be gone in a week or a month (as it was with me), and you'll be right back to where you were before -- minus the property you'll wish you'd kept.

Find other ways to rework your finances and live more cheaply.

If my wife or girlfriend told me I had to get rid of my guns, motorcycle or my beloved sheltie to keep her I'd show her my door and tell her to have a nice life.

I would go with

1) 1911 type pistol: 5" bbl, .45 ACP, with a complimentary .22LR conversion kit.
2) AR-15 (type) rifle, 20" A4 type upper, 5.56mm, complimentary .22 LR conversion kit. Maybe add an additional 7.62x39 (or larger) upper later if I want to hunt with a centerfire rifle and 5.56 dosen't meet the statuatory threshold.
3)Remington 870 Wingmaster: 12 gauge: 2 barrels- one a bird barrel (with a rib and chokes) and the other an 18-20" cylinder barrel with rifle sights

If my girl friend (not married yet but if I was the same would apply) tried to force me down to three guns I'd be looking for a new girl friend.

I'm sorry but a relationship isn't going anywhere good if one person tries to control the other. I've seen this happen to one of my friends where his girl friend kept telling him he needed to reduce the number of items he had in various collections (it started with action figures and moved all the way up to camera lenses). Eventually he woke up and realized he'd have no freedom if he married her and that he'd given up too much ground to ever get it back. They broke up but he was out thousands of dollars of stuff.

Remember a relationship involves working together, not one telling the other how things will be. If you bow to only having three guns she'll make more demands later (probably a restriction of one long gun and one handgun, then eventually only the long gun).
