Carryable Doublestack Options with frame safety

I feel perfectly comfortable with only 6 rounds in my XDS. But everyone has their own requirements.

Me too. My XDs is a great little beasty. But having different options isn't a bad thing or a backup gun in the event the XDs has a breakdown and needs a trip to the factory.

I really like the Ruger SR9c. Tried out quite a few compact 9mm.s and felt the SR9c had the most comfortable grip, the best sights and trigger, and was the most ergonomic design.

I carry a sr9c. I have a stealthgear onyx and n82 pro for it. Works well so far. I may switch to a single stack for summer with shorts and Tshirt. I have not carried the sr9c in summer yet.

I have owned the SR9c, P30sk v3 and a CZ Rami bd. To me, the Rami is the best out of the 3 in terms of concealability, ergos, trigger, recoil and accuracy. For me, CZ's shoot the best. YMMV.

I was debating between glocks, m&p, and xd compacts when I bought mine. Liked the Ruger sr9c best of those.

Did some additional research in the past two days. (Unfortunately, I didn't find anyone with a cz rami that I could check out...) I settled on the Ruger SR9c and bought it today from my LGS for $430. I haven't had a chance to shoot or carry it yet. I don't even have a holster yet - I prefer to carry IWB strong side or appendix. Anyone have any holster suggestions?

Hidden Hybrid Holsters makes a good product IMO. I've been carrying my XDS in one in the 4:00 position for several years.

Kodiak, it was a little quiet on here so I went ahead and placed an order for an alien gear IWB holster this morning. 30 day satisfaction guarantee, so I guess if I don't like it I can just send it back and try something else. I looked at the hidden hybrid holsters upon your recommendation. Looks like a good product. I like that you can select the color of the kydex & leather... If this alien gear holster doesn't work out maybe I'll try a hidden hybrid with brown leather and coyote kydex.

Congratulations on the SR9c! Way back when I was looking for my first polymer pistol, I had my eye on those. If I had the budget, I'd buy one just to have it around.

As for holsters, I see that you've already ordered one. With that said, I use a Crossbreed Supertuck (the same basic design as AG and Hidden Holsters, but I got mine in horsehide & kydex), and I find it to be just ridiculously comfortable.

As I mentioned in my post, stealthgear onyx and n82 pro here. N82 is most comfortable. Now that I adjusted the cant, onyx is nice too, but position when sitting affects comfort more. Onyx prints less and draws faster.

Thanks Spats! Yeah, I figured that even if I find it too large to EDC it's still a great and unique gun. I looked at crossbreed - they were my initial first choice in fact - but I found myself mildly turned off by their religious message and logos. Nice call on the horsehide - I understand that's super comfortable.
I also ordered a belt from AG - it'll be my first purpose constructed gun belt - I hope it lives up to my expectations. Like many gun belts it has a steel core and heavy duty stitching.

Dean, I did check out Stealthgear - looks like a great product. Only issue I saw is that they're 45+ days till shipping (& I'm impatient!)

Took about a month for mine. I liked the idea of no leather for hot weather. Seems like leather could be hot and sweaty. Who knows. The winter was my first with a cpl so what do I know.

I've had good experiences with leather so far. This will be the nicest and only tuckable holster I've owned

The religious message and logos didn't bother me, but I still swapped out the belt clips on my CBST. I figure if I'm going to conceal a holster, I should conceal the holster, rather than advertising it by keeping belt clips with the maker's logo on them . . .

The horsehide really is great, but I have to admit that I've never tried a hybrid IWB in regular leather. The first IWB I ever bought was a Theis holster, also in horsehide (which doesn't look like it's offered any more). Still, I know how I sweat in these Arkansas summers, and horsehide is reputed to make a better sweat shield than leather.

I hadn't seen the steel core gun belts before (& wouldn't use one because I go through too many metal detectors in my life), but I'm a firm believer in the value of a proper gun belt. It makes a world of difference in comfort.

I understand why some may not want the cross symbol on the clips due to their beliefs.

But, when I have spotted people carrying because of clips it has been from way too far away to tell what logo is on it. I am not aware of any other product people use that has clips like the crossbreed style of iwb holster. The symbol is not the give away, but the clips are, IMHO.

DeanV, I've got a nice knife with a kydex sheath whose clips look very similar to a firearm holster clip.

Just playing devil's advocate I guess.

Still say 90% or more dual clips on belt = gun. Or a gun guy with some accessory (mag, light, knife) holder made by a gun holster manufacturer and gun is elsewhere most likely. I am sure there are exceptions to the rule, but the majority of the time...it's a gun.

Nice on the SR9c, great little carry gun. Too small for me, but the one I had was a great shooter.

For holsters, in appendix or strong side in front of the hip (were I carry) I prefer something smaller than the big hybrid holsters, as I find them too restrictive.

I like kydex with a clip like the RDR IWB Holster or similar (Blade Tech, Galco and Raven Concealment make similar ones as well).

For leather I like the Wild Bill Covert Carry. Clip, tuckable, leather, works well at appendix or strong side.

Got a double stack Sig P320 for the wife. She loves it though it seems a little bulky for me for IWB. Might want to check it out anyway.

Ordered a couple extra mags for the SR9c today too - can't stop accessorizing! Already looking at night sights and I haven't fired or carried it yet!
