anybody getting ANY CCI 22 lr ammo? I am beginning to wonder as I hear of people who find it. But as for me I have been to pa. and virginia and have not found anything but standard velocity.

Gun Shows

I have seen plenty of it at gun shows but the price is still a bit too high.

I think the dealers are just playing with the price to see if we 'bite' at the silly prices.

It is supposed to be sold at 'old' price according to manufacturers.

The only .22LR ammo of any kind that's been in stock at my local stores has been CCI. A few weeks ago they had high-velocity segmented HP, and the last couple weeks it's been Mini-Mags.

Having shot a few hundred of each, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either.

Man, I'm sure glad I bought several bulk bricks of every kind of .22lr ammo that I ran across a couple years ago. Wasn't any real reason or plan to it, just picking stuff up on sale here and there. I have a .30 cal. ammo can plumb full of Winchesters, and another one almost full of CCI Blazers. Two more with Federal and Remington, but they're not nearly full, those are what we shoot out of. Still a couple of bricks in each.

Who would have thought there would ever be such a frenzy and shortage of .22 ammo? Jeeze. I sure hope it gets back to normal soon.

CCI is about all I am seeing around here but it is limited and still over-priced. I bought some CCI .22WMR this weekend for only a slightly stupid price but I was completely out after the Saturday shoot. Give it a month and I think it will be available though still a bit inflated. Keep tabs on Gunbot as I see CCI pop up on there occasionally.

My friend goes down to the local Walmart and buys his limit of minimags every night/morning to sell on gunbroker.

Sorry, but I think your friend is an ass and part of the problem. Buying for personal use is one thing, but doing it just to gouge other shooters for high profits stinks. He's preventing other folks from getting any at the store. If he wants to be an ammo dealer then he should go into business as one.....buy at wholesale and sell at retail, like everybody else.

My local gander mountain had some mini mags for $8/100 a couple days ago. I bought a brick of 500 winchesters instead though since I have plenty if stingers stocked up for hunting purposes.

LGS has nothing in .22lr except for CCI standard velocity. Selling at $6.50/50rds, and says he can get as much of it as he wants.....I translated that to mean he isn't selling enough at that price to need any more.

In the past 3 weeks I have picked up:

500 rounds CCI Standard Velocity at $6.95 per 100
1650 rounds of Federal Champion at 25.95 per 550
500 rounds of Wolf Match at $125 (OUCH!! I got weak!)
1500 rounds of Aquilla Match at $5.95 per 50
525 rounds of some white box federal (can't remember which style) $25.95 per 525.

Using it all..not selling it for profit. The only crap I got weak on was the Wolf Ammo. I got gouged!!!!!!! :cuss:

I haven't seen any in a long time in Walmart, Dicks, or other big box stores that typically carry it. I tend to buy the CCI standard velocity bricks at Dicks, but I have not bought any since before the latest rush on ammo started. I have a couple cases of the stuff and not in any particular hurry to buy more at gouger prices.

I had been buying CCI Stinger online a few weeks ago in 900 round ammo cans for $204.00

That equates to $11.33 per 50 round box.... a bit high maybe, but I got tired of wasting gas at $3.35/gal looking for a 3 box deal....:scrutiny:

Now I have plenty Stingers ... I had plenty of other bulk but the Stinger is my choice .22 LR

This past week same 900 round ammo cans were going for between $250 -$270 per 900 so the prices are still fluctuating. I bought mine to keep not sell so mine was an investment to me and I was ok with $11.33/box .. (that was me) about 8-10 weeks ago I had watched the same 900 round ammo can go for around $425.00...

I like CCI standard velocity .22 long rifle ammo

1. It works properly in my S&W M41 target pistol.
2. It shoots accurately (nearly as good as the Green Tag ammo).
3. It fires as close to 100% as any I've tried.

Used to was I could buy the CCI standard velocity for about $6.50 per 100 box. Since most everyone else wanted the 'fast' stuff, I didn't have to fiddle about too much to get it.

I, too, look forward to people not buying ammo to sell at inflated prices on line and the demand settling down to close to supply.

For my part, I will not buy ammo except from one of the LGS in my area, or from one of the established on line retailers, like Midway or Natchez or such folks. I hope the 'hoarder-sellers' get to eat a bunch of ammo.

I hope the 'hoarder-sellers' get to eat a bunch of ammo.

I think this is starting to happen with the AR Rifles ... they are getting plentiful and I am seeing a lot less bidding activity online!

And as far as the hoarder sellers, I think they are in a win win situation at the present state of affairs... they bought low with intentions of selling high and at the onset of the panic have already made there killing, now they have ammo regardless of what happens in the near future.

I believe it to still be a volatile situation in regards to ammo... so it was my intention to supply myself with what I use on a regular basis and when it comes to center fire I was buying ammo and brass, when brass itself was hard to find.

Now I can sit back and enjoy the occasional find at a gun show at a decent price or the lucky moment wally world actually has 3 boxes to sell me of target ammo. I had plenty of supply on all my main calibers I used before this all took place, but like 22LR is not a renewable, so even with ample supply one should have learned something from the craziness!
