Download this target, and test your skills:)
http://www.reloadbench.com/pdf/files/15 Small Circles.pdf

Rules:
1. 100yrds
2. Any caliber.....The bigger the better, but you will pay with recoil for the advantage:p
3. Any scope allowed.....If you cant see the dot with your scope, add a ring to the target with a sharpi, just as long as the original black ring is clearly visible
4. No lead sleds or Benchrest equipment...Any other means of steadying the rifle is GTG..IE Front rest, Bags, Bipods, Shooting sticks.......
5. One shot per Bull, 15 shots total, no time limit(but do it in one range visit)
6. Any position allowed

Center bull scores 3pts(As long as you break the edge), black ring scores 1pt(Same goes, just break the edge), 45pts for a perfect round. Clean center hits will be giving an "X" designation, used as a tie breaker. 45-15X beats 45-10X........Targets with more than 15 holes in it, will not be scored.

Get a box of ammo and have some fun!! Since most of us dont have super heavy benchrest rigs, I'd like to keep this limited to factory stocked rifles or close to it. Just don't want benchrest type stocks with flat steel plates, using oiled up bags.......;)

Need a pic of your target to score, a pic of your shooting set up optional. Shoot as many as you like, per rifle. I'll have a drawing at the end of the top 5 shooters, and mail the winner some target dots or shoot-n-see targets! That will get ya'll out shooting:D

FB, did the link work for you? It is a one shot group match:D

lol, ya, iza just yankin yer chain!

and ya, the link is good from my end. i like the simplicity of them very mucho!

ya that one is good too, but i like the first one to be honest.
the one shot per circle is a very good idea in my opinion.

no need to measure. no one wondering "is that 4 rounds,,, or 5?"

take your time,,, breath,,,,,shoot 1rd at a target and relax (rinse and repeat) lol

i like it.

Thought it would be fun.....And will definately rule out the fantastic group guys, but 6" off the bull:evil: Not that I haven't done that, just saying:D

FB, Like your Sig line...so true!

Neato, I Shot a good group at 300 today, and am now dead on with hunting ammo, I hate to lose my zero, so I might not get in here too soon, but will definitely shoot this.
Thanks for making it so I don't have to take the heat from people who don't like the format.
:D

Now that's a target I like. That one might even get used for the open sights (25 yard) rimfire match locally here in Wichita if I can promote it.

Gotta load up some more boolits for the 98K 8mm for this one. Thanks for running this one JD.

Gonna be more difficult than the target Maverick223 grabbed for the New Year's Eve Rimfire match here.

Small to large point values 5,4,3,2,1 -- 15 shots, 1 on each dot. If rounds are completely in the black (no edge cuts) an extra 5 points total as a bonus for a possible of 50.

Managed a 50 indoors with a scoped .17Mach2 at 50 yards. That was the range specified for bipods or sandbags with optics. It would make a good high power target too but @ 100 yards, those 1/2" small dots would be a bugger to keep a .30 cal or larger round completely in the black! Might try it for grins with my 91/30 & the 12 power scope.

Looks like fun . One question is it Best edge , or completely in bull for max points ?

Good thing to clear up....Best edge would be easiest to score, and give bigger calibers an advantage, so thats how we'll play. If someone clearly makes clean center hits, we can use that as an "X" designation, used as a tie breaker. For example.........45-15X will beat 45-10X:)

Dismal first attempt

Heres my first try at this, and must add very challenging!! Shot with my R700 LTR .223, front rest, rear bag, very cold, 10mph 10 oclock breeze.:p

Did an intresting thing with my target, and superimposed them all into a single group....Turns out to be perfectly centered (Windage) but .5" low (elevation) .867" for all 15 shots. I'll be setting my 100yrd zero 2 clicks higher, and hopefully score a better target.

Score 25-3X

Well poop I was looking forward to shooting on this but sitting here on the firing line I've discovered a problem with the chosen target. With a scope of less than 9x magnification you can't see the dots underneath the reticle.

In my case a 2x7x33 leupold

Make a bigger ring with a sharpi;)

Bipods are welcome, and since 90% of my shooting is prone with a bipod, it will be the next position I shoot for sure:)

Currently 3 degrees here, but I'll get out and do this one! Prone will be cold. Very cool idea

All of my centerfire rifles are peep sight guns. I doubt I can see these at 100 yds. I may wait for another match. Then again...no better than I shoot...it may not matter!

Mine are all iron sights, too, but I'll put up the target and take a look. I may only see black dots, but if I can see that much, I'll shoot.
