Cheapest / Most Expensive

I've been given several guns for free, but the least I have paid for one was a very nice Springfield 03A3 for $10. Even thirty years ago that was a great deal.
The most expensive that I can recall is a Colt SAA for $1000.

All of you with these $40 and $50 gun purchases are making me crazy. Where are these cheap guns?

Anyway, mine are:

Cheap: Brand-new Ruger LCP for $299
Expensive: Brand-new Bushmaster A3 20" Target for $950

The cheapest would be a tie between the Marlin model 60 w/scope I picked up at walmart somewhere around '96 for $95.00 & the Dan Wesson 15-2 I picked up out of a pawn shop maybe somewhere around the same time. The Marlin has the medallion on the stock-youth model. I didn't care I just wanted something cheap to go squirrel hunting with.
The most expensive would be my XD-40 service $500 dollars NIB. Then I had to go & add night sights get another magazine etc.

I got a .25 for $20 once. Not a raven, but equally cheap. Most expensive, that's a toss-up... DPMS Panter .308 was about $1,100 but I've also bought some nice handguns, like the Rohrbaugh and the Kimber, both were around $900.

I won a .45 in a raffle once, so I guess that would be the "cheapest" gun. :neener: Only cost the $8.00 background check!!

In todays dollars probably my old 10/22 on the low side and my Supermatch M1A on the high side.

Thanx, Russ

As you can see from this post, you can't spend serious money until you start buying fancy shotguns.

Least: $40 for a 16ga pump action SG
Most: $560 for a well-dressed Taurus 1911

If you are talking quality, the cheap one would have be a Accutek AT-380 or Jennings 22LR. The best ones would be the S&W Model 13 4" or the Colt Trooper Mk III 6"

If I look at what was paid for those in the past and adjusted the prices for inflation, I'd probably just cry my eyes out.

$55.00 for a 1907 Swede Mauser in 6.5 x 55 with a Williams peep installed and 400 rounds of Swede ball ammo.

Most expensive hasn't happened yet - there are a few SxS's I'm looking at.:D

A few I happened to come into for free, I paid $100 for my Yugo SKS a few years ago. I have since put about $400 in accessories on it.

I put together an M1A for $1300, with dedicated Springfield Armory optics. I could never make it run correctly and it beat me up, I got rid of it.
