It may not be your favorite gun, it may not be your most expensive gun, it could be the cheapest gun you own. If you had a bad day and needed to go shoot to cheer you up what gun would you take or what is the most fun gun you have to shoot? Why is it your most fun gun the ability to shoot small groups, the ability to blast away quickly? How do you shoot it for fun, paper targets, steel at long ranges, steel close up as fast as possible?

It varies.
Probably my late dad's 1906 Winchester .22 pump.
Or my 1936 Colt Woodsman Sport model?

Or the 1911 National Match I built myself and shot in competition while serving with 5th. Army AMU in 1968-70?

On the other hand, the newer SIGs are fun too??

So many questions, so little time left to answer them??

Ruger Blackhawk .357 Magnum bought circa 1964. Takes me back to a time when the world seemed saner, patriotism was alive and well and love of country was the rule and not the exception.

Norinco SKS. There's nothing like ripping off about 300 rounds in 5 minutes to get the blood boiling. Mine works with detachable mags and I have a few of them. The biggest limitation on how much I can shoot is how hot the barrel gets. I've had smoke rolling off the front stock before. I figured that was about as hot as I should get it. Still works perfect after all these years too. I paid a whopping $100 for it. I bought mine a little late. :) The AWB was coming up and it had driven the price up a bit.

Oddly enough, it's the browning 1911-22. Just fun to shoot. Not very loud or expensive to shoot, and the recoil is barely more than reassuring. It shoots small groups and has never caused any trouble. It's just good for decompressing after "one of those days".

Ak with a slide fire, no practical reason to own one other than to turn frowns upside down.

Like you said it's not my favorite gun, not even close, but it is fun on occasion.

well my new 22 Browning Buckmark SS camper is super accurate and a blast to shoot! also fun is my tack driver CZ 527 223 1-9 twist, my Tisas 1911 45ACP is also a fun gun-- all are accurate!

i reload for all except the Buckmark, reloading is part of the fun!!

1) Ruger 10/22
2) Browning Hi-Power
3) Colt Combat Commander

All of them are extremely reliable, very accurate, and definitely lots of fun to shoot.

As I have some fifty-plus guns of various brands and types, this changes constantly.......
I tend to favor the rimfires, due to no recoil and very good accuracy. But half my guns are rimfires!
Usually it is whatever has caught my current fancy, maybe something I just bought, or something I find renewed interest in.
Currently I am having fun with my newest Cap&Ball revolvers. Next month, it'll be something else. My new Henry Golden Boy had that honor for a few months.

For handguns I would say my Security Six and 22/45. Gotta love rimfire because I can shoot so much for cheap. Hitting steel plates with the Security Six is fun though too.

For long guns, definitely my Mosin 91/30.

My favorite THING to shoot, period, is a compound bow. It's more fun to shoot than any firearm, takes more skill & practice, and is both more challenging and rewarding. Plus I don't have to spend money to shoot it unless I lose an arrow!

That would depend on the week, or the day of the week, or the time of day. I love em all for the most part.

Off the top of my head, I've been enjoying shooting my Ruger Vaqueros of late.

Remington 1858 cap and ball replica. I cast my own lead and feed it home made black. Got it at Cabelas for around $200 on sale, no paperwork. Mine has target sights and is remarkably accurate.

Fun is a relative term, when I'm putting a mental picture of my brother in law on a paper target my arm of choice is my little 1892 Winchester carbine. Lightweight, easy to cycle, the 32-20 has just enough recoil to be satisfying but not so much the barrel moves much.

But then my hubby calls my little Winnie the "Hungry Rifle" cause when I bring it out something is going to be lunch. It's been my "go to" rifle since I was 14, the rifle and I have an understanding. Plus that it's cute!

Pedersoli 10 gauge B.P. SxS. Any of several B.P. really. Walker, Howdah, Kentucky long rifle etc. For me, it's just more enjoyable than slapping in a magazine and emptying it.
