Just sent this one to Senator Nicholson...
Senator,
As I read about yesterday’s house vote on H1224, 1226, 1228, and 1229, I was, frankly, embarrassed to be from Colorado. Political posturing, ‘feel-good’ legislation, and overall ignorance of the real issues we face as Americans has got me real down.
40 years I lived in Colorado, and I still keep property in Summit County, and I’m afraid my upcoming trip in May might be the last vacation I visit CO. I can’t stand the thought of spending all that money, paying taxes, and supporting an area that no longer respects the rights of law-aiding citizens. Our once proud heritage of firearms ownership in CO has been tossed under the bus.
What, exactly, makes the legislature feel is going to compel a criminal to follow these new, superfluous laws proposed? Are criminals not, by nature, going to do whatever they want. Willfully, maliciously shooting someone is a crime, is it not? That’s what it boils down to. The ridiculous ideas in these bills will do absolutely nothing to deter the criminals. The campus carry one actually invites ne’er do wells to a place they know will show no resistance.
Please don’t let these get through the Senate. Rather than letting emotion rule, please take the time to educate your fellow congress members about the truth. Turning CO into NY and CA is not the answer. I don’t spend any money in those states, and I encourage everyone I know to also avoid them.

I'm sorry about what has happened to my former home state, folks. I really am embarrassed for the folks who have allowed it to become so bad.
