I just got an Email from Nighthawk Custom that they have bought Cooper Firearms and will set up shop in the Nighthawk facility in NW Arkansas.

I see this as a good thing for Arkansas but I'm a little sad for Montana.

Cooper Firearms of Arkansas doesn't have the same ring to it, but I am glad to see another american classic style rifle maker keep going.

I got to shoot a Cooper rimfire last summer. Sure was a sweet accurate rifle.

That's great news that the company will continue on. Hope the quality stays. I have two (.223 single shot varminter and 300 Win Mag w/magazine) and they are both amazing rifles. Amazing shooters and balance is amazing. What a rifle should feel like...

$3995 for a bolt action .22 squirrel rifle.

What it would do better than my $300 pawn shop CZ-452 is beyond me.
Lol. Good point. The Cooper was very nice looking, high quality. The action was very smooth and the most accurate 22 I have ever shot including several CZ's and my Remington 540 XR target rifle. But no. I wouldn't spend that kind of money on it. But I can understand why my buddy did. When you look at it, handle it and shoot it, you have a great sense of pride. I did post pictures of targets a while back.

I love my CZ but the Cooper will have better fit, finish, smoother action, nicer wood, and I am betting more accurate.

Is it worth $4K more? Not to me but there are many that can appreciate them.

We had this this come through our Arkansas sight a few weeks ago.....

January 2023
Mark Stone - Owner/CEO of Nighthawk Custom:
I am pleased to announce that Nighthawk Custom LLC has acquired Cooper Firearms of Montana, known for custom bolt-action rifles. The rifle company will now operate as Cooper Rifles of Arkansas LLC and will be located on the same campus as Nighthawk Custom in Northwest Arkansas. Nighthawk Custom will proudly be the exclusive distributor of all Cooper Rifles.

Customers of Cooper will be pleased to know that the name, legacy, and reputation of building high quality custom rifles will continue, and we as a company look forward to strengthening the brand and even improve upon the quality of the past.
We ask for your patience during this time of transition as we move all operations to Berryville, Arkansas. At this time, we are not able to give you an exact date that Cooper Rifles will begin operations. The process will take time, and our goal is to ensure the same great products and customer service from Cooper Rifles that you have come to know and expect from Nighthawk Custom. It will be worth the wait, and we know that you will be thrilled with the quality, craftsmanship, and our excellent customer support.

As owner and CEO of Nighthawk Custom, I am very excited about this acquisition. Cooper has a long reputation of building fine and accurate rifles for over 30 years. Each rifle will be built with 100% fully machined parts, stunning wood, hand checkering, and beautiful finishes that are a perfect fit with our existing offerings that we are known for.

My Cooper model 36 will put 5 shots under a dime at 50 yards and that’s with cheap Federal ammunition. I’ve never tried the high dollar stuff in it:)

If your only measurement of worth is based upon going down the street for ice cream, your 200 dollar huffy is no different than my 1970 Chevelle.

To some people, workmanship and quality mean something.

I’ll wait and see how this unfolds but I kinda feel that this is a keeping up with the joneses move after Wilson Combat acquired the rights to the Melvin Forbes rifles isn’t the guys at Nighthawk a group of guys who left Wilson Combat?
