Free targets. Print some. :)
thanks, when I shoot pistol I began using the computer paper cause its cheap and I'm not riddling my expensive rifle targets with a bunch of pistol holes. :)

I like the one you linked for rifle, ill have to try those.

I posted one I use for pistol. Uses very little ink (I'm "frugal".)

Here is one I use for rifle at 100 yards.

I'm even more "frugal" than that. I use a paper plate with an X in the middle made with a marker. I use that for handguns, not rifles but I use printed black and white targets for rifles too.

With the target with five "crosshairs" I can staple four of them to the cardboard at the 100 yard line and be able to shoot awhile before changing targets. That helps when the range is busy.

If I forget the targets, I have a magic marker in the range bag for emergency targets. Like a sheet I use to log numbers.

Lol, great minds think alike. I have several markers because if I had only one it would not work. It's just my luck lol.

I am going to do that as well. I just didn't get how the RN shot better then FN. I will do another workup and shoot off my rifle sand bag.

Looking at those groups I wouldn't say one shot better than the other. I couldn't really see a pattern for either one of them. That said, my best groups were never with hp-38/win231.

The RMR 124gr FMJFN bullets are definitely very accurate, and I have proven it at 15yards in 357sig.

I am still chasing accuracy with this bullet in 9mm, but it is definitely not the bullet.

With my testing lately I think I have come to realize that the right powder at the correct weight with a good bullet will shoot accurately. It is just a question of finding that sweet spot, and then the shooter must also deliver. My best so far in 9mm is a .92" at 15yards, which is #15 on my most accurate list. There is definitely some place for improvement. Over the next few weeks I am probably going to try and find that sweet spot in 9mm. Will keep you posted.

Had every thing loaded up, fighting with nasty cold so I didn't make it to the range, sorry. Have not forgotten though.
Some zipped up printable targets.

Thanks!! Im going to shoot off a bag and see what happens.

what do you suggest?

I love WIN 231/HP38 because it works for everything. The downside is that it's almost never the best powder to get the most out of a bullet. I've shot way more bullets with 231 than anything else, but my best and most accurate loads to date have been from BE86 and CFE pistol. I also have an unknown pulled powder that has been working very well.

Wait a minute, "an unknown pulled powder"??? How on earth did you work up a load for that? Just weigh it from a pulled bullet and start there?

Started with a safe load for titegroup. DIdn't cycle the slide but barely pushed the bullet out of the barrel. Went up .2 grain increments. Found reliable cycling at about 5.6 grains but still lots of soot on the cases. Eventually settled with 6.5 grains for a 124 grain 9mm. Got me good velocity and cases ejected clean.

I picked 1,000 of the 124gr FMJFN, I have HS6, CFE Pistol, Bullseye, and Tightgroup powder. Any recommendations of what day to use for the HS6 and CFE? I'm guessing Hornady HAP data would be on the low side for this bullet.

I always use CFE-P on the weekend. Save the HS6 for weekdays.:)
(in this day and age one would think computers could put in what we want, not what we type!)

125 GR HAP Hodgdon CFE Pistol .356" 1.069" 4.2 956 25,600 PSI 4.8 1096 33,400 PSI
125 GR. SIE FMJ Hodgdon CFE Pistol .355" 1.090" 4.6 1009 26,900 PSI 5.1 1118 33,000 PSI

125 GR HAP Hodgdon HS-6 .356" 1.069" 4.5 865 27,200 PSI 5.1 971 33,100 P
125 GR. SIE FMJ Hodgdon HS-6 355" 1.090" 6.4 1131 25,600 CUP 6.8 1169 27,100 CUP
Interesting that the CFE-P data is close, while the HS6 data has a much larger difference in charge weight.:scrutiny:
.3gr difference in MAX charge with CFE-P, 1.7gr difference with HS6!
So Hodgdons Max charge with HS6 is less than their start charge for the FMJ.
I haven't used HS6 so I can't help there.

joustin you did't say what OAL you were using so that will make a difference.

For CFE-P I would start about 4.4gr assuming you don't have to load them really short.
I haven't had a chance to do range test my CFE-P loads yet. (day off today and it was raining, range trip cancled ......gggggrrrr)

Jeezless auto correct. OAL should be around 1.085 I think, Brownells extorted me and I caved, picked up 8lbs of BE-86. Should have a lot of work in the coming week
