CZ-452 Military Trainer?

VERY cool. So if the 455 Trainer has the same sights and look as the 452 Trainer, I might get one of those instead. Thoughts?
I would probably get a 452 while I still can. They have a cult like following. Sooner or later the line will probably be dropped. If that happens, expect used prices to climb. It has already happened to the discontinued 453 line.

I heard about the 452 trainer years back on rimfire central... bought one and put a peep on the rear sight.. unbelievable it is... Should have bought several but did get a 452 American to go with it. LOVE that trainer! Do not bother asking just find one and buy it!

BUY THE TRAINER. STOP WASTING TIME! :D :D

Seriously though, I "bought" one as my first rifle when I was in high school (technically Dad's first gun too, since he was technically the "buyer" ;) ) with money I made mowing lawns. Not only is the 452 a fantastic shooter, but it is nice to look at as well!

Mine has seen at least 5,000 rounds. I had a scope on it for a little bit, but now that I have other guns for that role it rocks the irons - which are fantastic like everyone else says.

With practice I am able to hit 12x18" plates out to about 280 yards. The tangent sights are very accurate, and the stock makes your eyes line up just right.

I really can't say enough about them. A buddy of mine found a 452 version for sale locally and snatched it up (he was tired of borrowing mine I guess). The beech stocks on these generally look great across the board from what I've seen.

The fact that the new 455 lux comes with non-tangent sights is a TOTAL deal-breaker, fwiw.

Fella's;

It's still possible to find a CZ452 Trainer at a reasonable price, though I don't know about N.I.B. The factory is still producing the LH Americans and the RH Scouts, both 452's. Also, it's said that if a distributor, Whittaker's, orders 500 at a time, the factory will build them. Whittaker's has done this several times in the last few years. Those are all RH guns & all American's I think.

The Trainer is an outgrowth of the BRNO series, particularly the number 1, and those were actual military trainers. Whether or not the Czech forces did or do use the 452 Trainer, I don't know. Somebody over at Rimfire Central probably does.

The Trainer and the Ultra Lux both have beechwood stocks, but don't share them. The Ultra has a cheek riser, the Trainer does not. The Lux, not Ultra Lux, is the same gun as the Trainer but with a walnut stock. If you're looking for a Trainer & can't find one, don't turn up your nose at a Lux.

The last new 452Trainer I bought was 3 years ago. I paid $328 shipped for it. I never shot it. With the alleged 452 production end, I planned to hold onto it for an investment. Within a year, new 452 Trainers hit the market again. I ended up selling it. I think I got $400 out of it

Can't go wrong with a CZ, especially the 452. First choice gun of many sporter target shooters, all steel and wood, no known defects or problems. A classy Rimfire. Some models do have slightly different scope mounts but they are easily found. Some stocks do need free floating.

I have a .22LR 455 Trainer and I'll tell you it's a great shooter. It has a beechwood, European style (humpback) stock and a tangent rear sight. Having iron sights was a "must have" for me because I wanted to be able to shoot with or without a scope. I wanted a longer barrel than the 455 Lux. FWIW, the 455 Trainer has the same length barrel as the 452 Trainer and 452 Lux but, for some reason, the 455 Lux has a 4" shorter barrel. Here's mine with a bipod attached and with/without a 3-9x32mm AO scope.

The CZ 455 Military Training rifles are ideal for shooters seeking a precision rifle with a set of good iron sights. The trigger is adjustable for weight, and the safety is located above the rear of the bolt and provides a positive firing pin block. The CZ 455 training rifle is the same as the discontinued 452 Training model except for the fact that the 455 provides you with the ability to swap barrels and chambering.

Yah, what everyone else said. If you just want to shoot alot of bullets but something else, BUT, if you want to hit the target buy the CZ. My trainer will shoot anything but it really likes subsonics.
