I bought the book and read the chapter about the CZ-527 in x39 last night.

Very informative, nice writing! I want to read the rest of the book now.

Well everyone, I've got a hog hunt I'm going on at the very end of the month. I've sold several guns over the last couple weeks, made over a grand off them, but right now it just doesn't feel right to spend all that money on the CZ plus optics.

I think for this hog hunt, I'll take my Mosin M44 along with some softpoints. I've got a real nice and accurate one, shoots to POA. Should do well I suppose. I definatly think the CZ is in my future, and really wanted to take it hunting but right now I think I'll hold off. It's a hefty chunk of change to go spending all in one go.

Range day with CZ 527 7.62x39

All this talk about the CZ 527 7.62x39 made me want to take mine out today, figured I'd share the fun with the good folks here are THR.

First off, it was raining to beat the band, no big surprise here in the great Northwest, it does make the view of the target have that sepia look though :) And, the better the scope, the better you see the raindrops. Thank goodness for a mid-priced Nikon!

All the target pictures are shooting Hornady 123 grain SST at 100 yards. The rifle has a Nikon 2.5-10x40 Prostaff 5 mounted. Also mounted was a front Harris bipod, buttstock supported with sandbags.

I have to say, this rifle is more fun to shoot than can possibly be described in words. For what it is, it just feels "right". Not surgical, not scatter-gun, not ammo-dump, just plain fun.

The last target picture is 10-shots, the rest are all 5-shots.

No so. Sierra make bullets for it. One is a 123 gr and the 150 gr for the 303 works too.

I want one in .223 now as CZ has changed the barrel twist to 1/9. Great rifles.
