Did the pandemic slow the growth of the 6.5 PRC?

Would the 6.5 PRC HAVE EXPLODED IF NOT FOR THE PANDEMIC?

@LoonWulf
It would also be near impossible to De thrown the 300 WSM as Heavy Gun king of the bench rest world or even be competitive in Light gun against the 6 mm's so that leaves prs or hunting.
Not a realm I'm real familiar with lol, but from what I've read tho the PRS guys are going to lighter easier to shoot cartridges as well.

There have been fast 6.5's since Winchester introduced the 264 WM back in 1958 and none have ever caught on. The PRC is most likely the best one yet, but it is still struggling. It is a good round, but lots of good rounds never catch on in such a crowded field.

When I look at the 6.5PRC there are 2 things that prevent me from buying one. The 264 WM earned a reputation for burning out barrels with less than 1000 rounds, the PRC will be as bad or worse. And while it shoots flatter, and farther than a 6.5 CM, my 308 and 6.5CM are already capable farther than I can shoot. I couldn't use it's advantages. I think others are concluding the same.

I know 2 people that are changing to 6mm from 6.5, they are trying for the little extra and they think this is the way to go. I'm looking for a new rifle, (Bergara or Savage precision) and was looking at the PRCs but have decided to stay with either a 6mm or 6.5 Creedmoor and am leaning to the 6.5 Creedmoor since I have brass and dies and looking around I can't find them in 6mm CR. I looked and found some FL sizer dies in 6.5PRC BUT,, I would think a bushing die set would be a better choice and couldn't find brass anywhere.

I don’t do competition anymore but still hunt. I killed many elk and deer with my .270, but decided I NEEDED more power for elk and went the other direction in the 300prc and 300 win mag. The 6.5’s and less are all under powered for elk, and so none of the man bun rounds ever caught on with me for that reason.
To answer to OP I would say yes the pandemic probably had some impact on the PRC.
