Do you still have your first gun?

Great question? My first firearm was a Colt Mk IV Series 70 Gold Cup NM purchased back in 88. It was an awesome looking gun and amazing shooter. I remember like yesterday, the first time I took it to the range. I put seven downrange from a rest and could not see the holes. I walked down and they were all in a group the size of a half dollar.:) ...Wow...

I had to sell it (to Rays Sport Shop, Rt 22 , Plainfield NJ in 90) while going to college at Rutgers. I needed the money for gas and food.

I regret that to this day, and as a result of that decision, I have not sold or traded a single fiream out of my collection since. Maybe some day I may sell/trade but I am still "emotionally scarred" from that incident.

I have had the desire to purchase one, just been too busy buying other guns:D

Yes. And I won't sell it unless my kids are hungry.
My first gun is a Browning BL-22 I got for X-mas in 1980. A gift from Mom and Dad.

HOLY CRUD HOW DID I GET THREE OF THESE UP HERE!

Yep, an Ithaca Model 37 20-gauge that my folks gave me. October 4, 1955. Still remember that day.

My first gun was a Marlin 39A. I bought it in 1962. I mounted a Redfield receiver sight on it and refinished the stock. I still have it.
Last year, I bought a hardly used 39M Mountie. I put a Williams receiver sight on that one. I have no intention of selling either.

Yes, a Remington Nylon 66, mohawk brown with a cheap scope. I wanted to buy one in seneca green but could not find one. It was my teenage version of the M16 rifle. I still have it. :)

Nope-- A Universal M-1 Deluxe carbine. Bought at an auction, my dad had to sign for it(back in the 80's). Ugliest version of a carbine ever wrought by man- "Monte Carlo" glossy stock, weird ring- shaped barrel band. Looked real butch with the 30 round mags taped together jungle clip style. I put a sidesaddle Weaver base on it so I could mount a 4-power Simmons til a lens popped loose inside. Weird recoil I guess.

Pawned it to pay the rent in the early 90's in North Carolina. If one of you guys ended up with it, sorry 'bout that. I miss it in a strange way.

My first gun was a .32 Colt hammerless with bushing. While it was stolen nearly 20 years ago I've been working my way back to gettting another and just did last week. The first gun I purchased is a P12 Para and it's still my carry gun.

You betcha!

Mine was a new Remington Nylon 66. Only .22 rifle I've ever had or thought I needed.

Yes. Mossberg 500 12 gauge given to me by my wife and father-in-law. :D

Yep, a Marlin 880 .22 bolt action. I got it when I was 14. I'm almost 21 now so unless my math is failing me again, that means i've had it for 23 years.

Nope. Needed the $$ so I sold my first rifle half what I paid for it. Never got to shoot it no place to shoot it.

Don't have my first handgun either. After having a breakin and scaring the guys off I hit the mag eject and it went off. The neighbor (who was a firearm enthusiest and a reloader) who's apartment the round went into just told me to get rid of it and get something that won't go off accidently. So I gave it to him. It was a bit of a collectors item. I gave him all the paperwork to get the brand new barrel out of customs as well. To the best of my knowledge he got the barrel, took the gun in, hand the sear worked on as well as the action, put the barrel in and uses it as his carry gun. Thats the last I heard anyway. It was a Tokarev 213 9mm Luger. Reblued as well. I paid 150 for it, the former Alaska State Trooper I got it from, sprang for the barrel(100 dollars).

Yep.

First gun I ever purchased is a Ruger Single Six, blued, .22lr / mag, with 9.5 inch barrel.

Not practical for holstering, and shoot the least of all my sidearms, but have no desire to sell it, since it was my first purchase.

Now also have my dad's .22 rife and 870 shotgun.

Never have sold a firearm. Just buy... <grin>

My first was a Colt Police Positive Mk V .38 Special. I'd been wanting one after reading a review in American Rifleman and found an advertisement in the Shotgun News offering them NIB for $200. I paid a local dealer $30 to transfer it and with tax and background fee I wound up paying a whopping $257 for it - $3 below wholesale at the time. It's been one of my best shooters. Too bad Colt dropped it from their lineup after only a year. Had I known that, I would have bought two.

I'll never part with it. :)

Still have them after 42 years....first rifle, Remington 512 (paid $15) and first handgun Stoeger .22 Luger ($75)
