Well, here is the scenario and what I did. I'd like to know what you all would do ...
I had an appointment with a specialist on referral from my primary care physician. I've had the apppointment for three weeks. I was out running around town today handling some other business and I was carrying -- point being, I didn't go there directly from home. Due to the nature of the visit, a consultation, I wasn't expecting to disrobe so I didn't think much of carrying into the doctor's office. I figured at most I'd have to have my blood pressure checked. I was carrying strong side IWB.
Anyway, as it turned out, I saw both the specialist and a general practitioner who was learning the particular procedure that I was consulting about. The GP was a woman and the specialist a man. So, the nurse takes my BP, and then the doctors come in and we talk a bit. Near the end, the specialist asks me to disrobe for a brief check over. I was caught off guard.
I didn't know either of these doctors. However, they had a waiting room full of people and my car was in a parking garage blocks away. I know the doctors were busy and running down to the car for something on pretext when we were nearly done would have pissed them off.
So, I came clean. I told them I was carrying and that if they preferred I would take the gun out to the car and return. They said that was not necessary, so I took off the holstered gun and lay it under my coat on the examination table. I showed them my ccw. Turns out the woman's fiance is a prosecutor who wants to get a ccw and I gave her my card as she said she wanted him to call me about that. They checked me over, then left the room and I got dressed and put my gun back on. I never unholstered the gun while they were in the room.
The most difficult part was having that reather sexy doctor staring at my business end while the specialist handled my manhood! Very embarrassing!
So, what would you all have done?
