Same here. I've been looking for LRP's for well over a year, every time I'm in a place and they ask if they can help me find something they basically laugh when I tell em what I'm after.
I don't even need that many, I think I could pick up a sleeve of 1000 and have it last 10+ years or more. I'd be happy to find 100 at this point, just want to cut my teeth on reloading but the only thing I want to load is 45/70. But with anything like this, persistence is key. Just gotta keep making the stops and I can usually pad out my supplies in other areas...
I'm pretty sure I've posted this before but, in 35 years or reloading I never loaded anything that took large rifle primers.
Then, in 2020 I decided to load a couple cartridges that took large rifle and, after finding them, I paid what I considered to be a large premium to buy them.
I paid about $13-16/100! for them and, at least at my LGS, I bought them all (2500 divided between standard and magnum) and haven't seen any back in stock since.
My fault for waiting until the worst possible time in recent history to buy them.
I feel very fortunate to have stocked deep on all other sizes and understand that, in times like these, you gotta "pay to play".
