Two questions about the Gen 5 model 19:
1) Does it have the "Glock hump" in the lower rear part of the stock, like the Gen 3's had. I have a Gen 3 model 19, so of course it has the hump in the lower rear part of the grip. I am told that the Gen 4's did away with that, and my Gen 4 model 26 indeed has no hump.
I was in a gun shop today and tried the Gen 5 model 19 in my hand. The salesman said the Gen 5's do have the hump in the rear, similar to the Gen 3's. I couldn't quite tell myself, because the hump seemed to feel a bit less prominent.
2) I've been in two shops, and in one shop, the Gen 5 model 19 had the mag cutout in the front, and in the other, it did not. The guy in the second shop told me that Glock had stopped putting the cutout in the grip in new production models. But I have also heard the opposite -- that Glock had STARTED to put the cutout in the grip in the newer production models.
Any factual answers to both questions would be appreciated. Thanks

The Gen 5 MOS doesn’t have the mag cutout in the front and the slide is milled for a RDS.

The standard Gen 5 has the mag cutout

Both have different blackstrap options of various “humpness”

Thanks, that answers my second question, and now I do recall that the model without the mag cutout was the MOS model.
As to my first question, I am not asking about backstraps. I am asking if the lower rear part of the grip in the Gen 5 has the hump similar to the Gen 3 models, or is the hump gone, similar to the Gen 4 models.

Thanks, good history lesson, but they all look pretty much the same to me.
I'll await a more definitive answer from some other respondents.

All full and compact sizes Glocks have the hump you're referring to regardless of generation. The only difference is that the Gen4 and Gen5 have changeable backstraps

I would just like to point out that if hump-ness is an issue, getting a gun with a full size grip lessens the effect of the hump because the hump is lower on the grip. I have a G19X and I prefer that grip to the one on my Glock 23 which is the same as a Glock 19.

As for the cutout in the grip of the Gen-5's, they were introduced with the "new" cutout. I have heard that they are now no longer doing that on the new Gen 5 G19's, as they have done on the Gen 5 G19 MOS but I cannot verify that for certain. That being said, My Glock 23 from 1992 or so has the cutout as well.
