I have been considering adding a dot to on of my handguns using one of these.
I was curious if anyone has one and how it worked out for you.

(lots of variables of course since they can be used on lots of different pistols)

I just bought one to mount fastfire to 1911 was a tight fit but worked perfect, I would buy one again.

Though I do not have any EGW red dot mounts (yet), anything built by EGW is top shelf. I have a number of scope mounts, and had some pistol work (back in the day) done by George. Good product, and good people.

Cool, sounds like I need to decide which lucky pistol gets the dot and order a dot and a mount.:)
It wasn't so bad a few years ok, sights were sort of sharp targets were sharp.
Now front sight is a fuzzy blob, back not to bad.
I have glasses to make the front sharp but then it makes the targets really fuzzy.
(does not work well for running around shooting USPSA)
So I think it's dot time.

I don't own any EGW mounts but I have seen quite a few attaboys for them on different forums. I wouldn't hesitate to get one the next time I am in the red dot sight mount market if they offer what I need. I love me some red dots on pistols. They are a huge improvement over the glasses. I even bought a new carry gun recently with a factory installed red dot.

BTW I am in CA so I can only buy a handgun off the "Approved List'
Otherwise I would be tempted to buy something new that was dot ready....

The EGW is a good mount. I have it, and other good EGW items.
The Burris mount actually rides lower, by semi straddling the slide, and self centers under mounting torque. It's slightly cheaper, but just as rigid.
No knock to the EGW, just another good option.

Thanks, his name was Dude, he had an accident (back injury) and had to be put down so his pic as a puppy became my avatar.
Good dog that got cheated with a short life.
