anyone have any notable favorites?

Let's see, I like blondes, brunettes and redheads.... :neener:

Seriously, though, I like variety in my handguns. I have both revolvers and autoloaders. I like both DA and SA revolvers. In the DA guns, I'm partial to Colts and Smiths. In the SA, there are lots of great ones (I've got a couple of Blackhawks, some Colts, some Hartford Armory Remingtons, and several others). I've got them ranging from .22LR (a Ruger Single Six and couple of Colt Peacemaker .22's) to .44 Remington Magnum, and I like them all.

On the autoloader side, I really like 1911's. I've got a couple of Colts (1911 WWI replica and a Gunsite Service Pistol), a couple of Paras and a Kimber. I like them in .22LR (my Kimber Rimfire Super is tons of fun and ridiculously accurate), .38 Super and, of course, .45ACP.

I also like Glocks, which is kind of sacrilegious (sp?) for a 1911 fan, I guess (sort of like being a fan of both Michigan and Ohio State). I think Lugers are nifty, and CZ's, and lots of other autoloaders. I've got a thing for pocket pistols, too. I just love my little Colt 1903.

About the only thing I really dislike are traditional DA/SA autoloaders. I just hate that long, heavy trigger pull on the first shot. As much as I think my Walther PPK/s is a neat little gun, I hate shooting it, so I'm probably gonna sell it.

The bottom line is that I like a lot of different handguns, for different reasons. Picking a favorite among them would be tough. It would be like asking me which of my three children is my favorite. They're all different, and I love them all.

If I could only have just one, though, it would probably be my Colt 1911 WWI replica ....

My favorite is a 4" Ruger GP100 in SS, but my future favorite is still in a dealer case somewhere (22lr/mag) Single Six or Colt Officer's Target. I just haven't found it yet (or the funds to purchase it with:eek: )

Read my user name!

1911's, with the following caveats: No external extractors, none of this "series 80" junk and full length guide rods should be melted down and turned into something usefull.

Revolvers - I'm partial to Freedom Arms.
Semi-auto - A Pardini SP is a lot of fun and very accurate.

Semi-Autos: 1911's -- Colt GM, Wilson Combat CQB, Les Baer TRS; I don't mind Colt's Series 80 junk

Revolvers: S&W N-frames -- 27, 28, 29, 57 Character is always welcome.

Rifle: The Garand is a classic, but I prefer the M-14 action.

Shotgun: Depends. . . All around would be the Rem 870 'cause it can do anything, lots of options. For clay games, a Browning 525 Sporting.

Pistols: Ruger KP90DC One reason is that I can out shoot my buddy with his Kimper Altracarry or whatever the model is.

Revolvers: Ruger Bearcat and Ruger SS Vaquero in 45LC. poppy

Arrrgggggh. Don't make me choose. I've got a S&W 25 (45 Long Colt DA), Colt 38 Super, Colt 45 Comander, S&W 38 Spl (Cant remember model#), Ruger 22 SA, Ruger Mark II, and Ruger Security 6. I love em' all

S&W K Frames with my M64-3, 4" being my favorite. But then again, I also love my M57, 4" (.41 mag.). Forcing a person to choose like this is no fair to your other weapons.:neener:

as I get older I find myself liking old guns more and more.

What is a Glock to a Luger? What is any plastic wondernine to a pre-war Colt?

Just my thoughts.

My faves? Well, my P7M8 would be on that list along w/ my Italian 92fs inox, my USP 45, & my Colt 1911 XSE :) I don't know how I ended up w/ 4 favorites but I did!

Pick One?

No Way! I wouldn't own them if I didn't love them. An easier question would be which do I love less. Then I might find one or two I could name.

Well up until a few months ago my SIG 220ST, but now that I’ve got a little over 2K through my Les Baer, I’m back to loving 1911s again.

For revolvers, it’s got to be my 6” Ultimate Stainless Python with my Colt SAAs very close behind.
