Just curious about your favorite gun

My question is this, if you have a favorite, why keep buying guns that aren't similar to it? For example...your fav is a govt model 1911, why not just get an officer's model for CCW or a 6" 686 & a 2-1/2" 686 for carry?

YOu mean like my favorite is a Para Ordnance P14.45 Limited so I should buy a Springfield Champion, a Kimber Ultra Carry CDP and a Colt Gov't .380, and equip them all with the same sights?

Oh wait, I already did that...:p

tossing hair back defiantly. . .

Skunk, I happen to have smaller hands than Susan - and besides , the Desert Eagle is just fun!

Schuey, we shoot it for relaxation (250gr FMJTC's on 12.1 grains of VV N340 with a nice firm crimp) at 75 paces to see who can get a saltine 5-for-5 taped to a black piece of paper. It's good for trigger/breath control, too!

It isn't on my weapons list for my CCW - though this IS :

(impish wrinkled-nose smile to Tamara. . .)

It carries beautifully in its' Bianchi Cyclone under a parka!

Trish, so you don't CCW the Desert Eagle but, you do pack a ...
S-U-P-E-R Redhawk in .44mag!!!!:what:

Please tell me what part of the country that you hail from so I can be sure to stay miles.... and miles away. :D :D

[note to self: Don't ever go to Bailey, Colorado] :p

innocent-eyed

. . .wow. . .

Anyway, the Super Redhawk is carrying 200gr SJHP over 14.4 grains of N340, and it chronos just a little over 1500fps at this altitude. Very nice to shoot!

Favorites? Needs? HA!

(doing my best imitation of a High-country Cosmo girl)

It's about what I just have to have!

(OK, and what I can save for. . .)

Òàìàðà, âîïðîñ:

Tamara, where are you from? Originally? Sevastopol here...

Oh, and on the subject - Tamara put it very nicely. There's no favorite. I like so many of them. I do tend to pay more attention to 1911 style high end guns every time I enter a gun shop... And that's after I already got one ;)

Tamara, never mind :)

I was reading the first page of this thread and someone posted cyrillic in the reply... You replied and I got an impression that you are fluent in Russian ;)

Tamara is indeed a very common name back in mother Russia afterall.

I have an all-time favorite, and it hasn't changed in close to 20 years -- the S&W Model 19.

I have Model 19s in 2.5", a 4", and a 6".

I have quite a few S&W revolvers, as well.

That doesn't mean, however, that I don't like, or enjoy, other firearms.

Why should I limit my enjoyment, or intentionally rein in my hobby, just because I have a favorite?

Can't I enjoy other firearms, as well? Of course I can. So why shouldn't I own some of them, too?

Love every one of my guns, the favorite seems to be the one that I am shooting the best.

Mike

I would have to say my Kahr K9 because it is the one that I carry most of the time. I also like my Glock 27 and SIG 239, 357 for carry too! It's so hard to pick just one! My current dilemma is what to buy next. I would like a Kahr K9 elite, SIG 239 9mm, Glock 23 or something totally different like an STI BLS in 40. Decisions, decisions!

Why hell yeah I got a favorite gun, its the Glock Model 30.

Why all this "pussy footin round" by all you people?

Didn't you ever pick a favorite or are you flakey?

Favorite....

Favorite handgun type...1911's...

Favorite 1911, my alloy frame Wilson Stealth........with alloy grip safety and nylon mainspring housing it weighs in @ 23.5 oz of .45 cal comfort!

BTW, Tamara is right, NEED is a communist concept.....

My favorite gun is my Delta Gold Cup.

I buy other guns, because variety is the spice of life.

I carry Glocks, because the boss says I have to.

I have revolvers, because they are so cool and have power that autoloaders don't.

Daddy likes his guns. :D

My favorite gun is my Valtro. I consider it my "personal weapon" as the Guru would refer to it.

I may get more 1911s, but the Valtro will always be special.

My personal backup is my 638 which I need to learn to shoot better (read: well).

I need more hand guns, but it will probably be 3:1 revolvers to 1911s

I consider the revolver to be one system, the 1911 to be another - if I own any other handguns, they will be T/C Encores or similar.

I went to pickup fast food tonight - was dreaming about Florida and how I would have taken my Valtro with me if I lived there...

ah...
