Maybe some of you Dealers can help i just purchased a Rossi R92 ss in 44 mag they shipped it too the closest FF L Dealer to my residence but cannot pick it up until they call me why is that are they putting a tracking devise in the weapon somewhere whats the deal does someone know??
Have you ever been introduced to Mr. Period and Ms. Comma?

Yeah, they're probably installing the new government mandated tracking device into your gun as we speak. Best not to discuss conspiracies around it, either.

Good luck with your new gun!

FFLs have to go through their process when receiving a firearm, namely logging it in the A&D book even though you bought it online. For most shops this is a pretty quick process and not a big deal. If your gun has been sitting at the FFL for 3 months and you haven't gotten a call yet, that would be a different story.

Also there is no tracking device in the weapon. Probably. It is tracked by the bar code on the outside box. A carrier, be it UPS/FedEx/USPS/Amazon etc will scan the barcode to update where it is between origin and destination.

1)Settle down, man. People like you drive business people nuts. You sound just like the guy who drops his car off for major work like a transmission overhaul and is calling every hour wanting to know when it will be ready.

You're not the only person in the world that they need to do things for.
Me, I wouldn't even expect to be picking it up for 2 or 3 days.

2) Punctuation is a wonderful thing. You should try it sometime. If for no other reason, just as a courtesy to your readers.

My FFL's primary business is as an auctioneer. I use him because he's the lowest priced in my neck of the woods in NJ ($45 for transfer & nics), and a good guy. Even though I want my new acquisition yesterday, I always wait at least 3 days before calling, especially if he's getting ready for a big auction.
