Finally held a CZ P-09. Will trade FNS-9 for it.

I finally got to hold, operate, and dry fire a CZ P-09, at my local FFL, and will make the trade between it and the FNS-9 I recently got. I feel far more comfortable with it than the FN. The P-09 had the decocker installed, yet the trigger was still quite good. Supposed to be better if replaced with the safety lever. May do that, . . . may just keep the decocker on it.

Gonna call CZ to see if they know whether or not any P-09 pistols will be shipped/sold with Tritium night sights, but if not, I will do the deal this afternoon.

I'm anxious to get it out to the range to see how it will do! :)

Hope the deal goes well for you and we get to hear about your range session soon.

Called CZ-USA, and was told that it will be unlikely that one with Tritium night sights will be shipping out anytime soon, if at all. They DO have sights I can buy, later [when they actually have them in stock], so I'll buy them at that time.

Anyway, called my local FFL and will take care of it after work. I hope to get pics up this evening. Range report [again, hopefully] by the end of the weekend.

:D

Good luck!
Don't do CZ P07 in 40 S&W! I'm guessing the P09 isn't any better, as it is brand new.
If you need ANYTHING that is not listed on their "webstore," you are screwed. No phone answer, no call back from message. NO response to e-mail. All this week.
I love the pistol, but will NEVER buy ANYTHING CZ again.
Someone did respond to their Facebook site, but when I asked how am I to know when parts are in stock, if they don't exist on the "webstore?"
No answer.
Flame away, but that is my situation.
On to Sig.
By the way, it does make for a nice $500 trainer, anyone have blue paint? :cuss:

I've had nothing but good experiences with CZ-USA customer service. However, all companies screw up sometimes, and I'm sure they aren't perfect.

All week? Just relaying my experience.
Love the pistol, hate the service, or lack of.:banghead:

CZ customer service has great reviews sorry your having bad luck with them. What problem are you having or do you just need a part? There are a lot of guys over at the czforums that can help you with both.

The P-09 had the decocker installed, yet the trigger was still quite good. Supposed to be better if replaced with the safety lever. May do that, . . . may just keep the decocker on it.

The trigger shouldn't be much different whether the decocker or safety is installed -- as I believe the important internals (hammer, sear, and disconnector) are essentially the same, regardless of how the gun is configured. (I write this based on experience with their other models, but have NOT been able to actually get hands on, so may be off base...)

Folks either love the new P-07 or P-09 or hate them. I'm waiting to get a chance to see and handle (and, maybe, shoot) one.

I called CZ Customer Service a couple times just this week. Had no problems getting in touch with a person who helped me make my decision.

As for the .40cal P-07, . . . I know that Nutnfancy was running one on his site and had issues with rounds not going into battery. On that video, he talked about how Angus Hobdell suggested to go with the 9mm version because they hadn't had any issues with them.

Tonight, I will take it to the range and will post the pics/results this evening.

Well, I did get an e-mail.
Hi Rob we only have the 9mm barrels in stock. We have the .40 on order
just waiting to receive them. We don't have an estimated date of
delivery. Thanks

At least they did respond. Still have no barrel. Still have no way to know when it comes in since I can't even order it.

I do love my P07, just doesn't do me any good if I can't get parts.:banghead:

Okay guys. All great news! Took it to the range and ran about 90 rounds through it [115gr. fmj]. No issues at all. Ran flawless. This thing is absolutely the softest shooting 9mm I have ever shot! On top of that, it is very accurate! I shot this pistol better than I've shot any of my other 9mm's. I am VERY glad that I traded the FNS-9 for it now. :D

Target is 7 yards.

Couldn't agree more, Armoredman. It truly is a fantastic gun. So far, my favorite 9mm pistol I've shot! And I have a customized SP-01 with SAO trigger, comp hammer, and firing pin block removed. This P-09 still beats it, IMO. Now, all I need to do is wait for tritium night sights and a couple of +2 base plates to show up on the CZ-USA sight. Then, it will be perfect!

Jealous-Got mine last week, still no time to shoot it. Family stuff all weekend. Congrats!

Yes. It comes with it in the box. You just have to figure out how to do it. I haven't yet.

Looks like some mighty fine shooting, accuracy wise, right out of the box. Very impressive for a new gun. Let us know how future range sessions go.

Will do, Bannock. I was quite surprised as well. I hope to take it out again sometime next week. At this point, I am extremely satisfied with the pistol . . . and the trade. :)

And thank you for the compliment!

briang2ad, all the parts to convert are in the box, and if you call 1-800-955-4486 and ask the gunsmiths, they will walk you through it over the phone.

I switched to the safety, over the weekend. I think it asthetically looks better than the decocker and I have no issue with being able to safely lower the hammer on a chambered round. Trigger pull was. . . . . . not really affected much by the change.

Did I say that I love this gun? So excited to have it! :D
