First gun was the perfect gun

All the guns I think I wanted never turned out perfect, but the ones I bought on an impulse turned out great.

Recently, I consider my SCCY to be perfect for carry and range use. I bought it because it was on sale for $200. I never wanted it but I'm pretty handy with it now that I mastered the trigger.

G26 was my first carry gun, G21 was my first handgun... There's a reason they're the only two I shoot at this point, and the G26 is all I carry. I did a lot of research and shooting before buying either, and they remain my favorites.

Occasionally I'll carry my G19, but just to feel like I don't have $600 wasting in the safe.

Nope!!! First gun I can recall buying, many years ago, was a 1918 DWM Luger. Bore looked like the surface of the Moon. Never successfully got through a full magazine without a jam, or 2 or 3.....

I don't have the first one, a 1972 S&W 28 4". It had an issue which I foolishly didn't address but sold it. I have the 2nd or 3rd, I can't recall, a 1976 Service 6 4" SS and it runs like brand new. I have many others now so it doesn't get a LOT of range time, but it's in the rotation. I almost sold it many years ago but The Rodentwoman made me keep it!

I seem to always find that next gun I want will be the perfect one, somehow it hasn't worked out yet.... Possibly because I haven't bought a 4" model 29 yet, I really think it will be be perfect......Finally

First gun

The first pistol I ever bought was a Taurus Titanium Tracker in .357... Loved the "ribber" grips, but they were not enough to tame the snap of the magnum loads. Sold it. Yeah, well... Would like to have it back, somewhat.

First handgun I ever shot was my dad's WWII 1911. That would have been around 1964.

First handgun I ever bought was a WWII~ish 1911. That would have been around 1982.

I have owned around 25 1911s in my lifetime, and I probably haven't owned my last. :)

Whether or not this proves your theory, I cannot say. But it may add a bit of weight...

My first handguns (both bought at same time) were the Taurus 7-shot Model 627 .357 revolver w/6.5" lugged and ported barrel... and a Ruger SR-22 pistol 10+1 .22lr w/2 mags

Never carried either but both are accurate, reliable and a hoot to shoot. The goofy engineers at Ruger designed the safety on the SR-22 strangely... It is down for 'safe' vs up

I don't expect ever to sell them (and I've since bought 50+ amd sold 30+)

I'm not that I'm sentimental over these two guns... It's just that they've earned a permanent home!

For years, I carried a Makarov and loved it. It is a good size and pretty comfortable to carry even though it is all steel and a tad heavy. It is also fun to shoot at the range. However, about a year ago I picked up a Sig P938 which is now my preferred carry. The size, fit and finish is perfect.

My dad helped me get a 6" Colt Python in Royal Blue in 1979. I still have that Python and carry it occasionally. I still have the original holster I bought for it, a Bianchi model 5BH.

First handgun purchased was a Beretta PX4. It is not my only gun nor the only one I carry but I still carry it often and it generally goes with me to the range. I lucked out and bought a great one first time out I guess.

I knew that the 1911 fit me and while shopping for a used one ran across a CZ 75b. It was a natural fit for me and even though I have purchased several 9mm since, it is still my favorite.
Excellent ergonomics, accurate and reliable. I recently had Cajun Gun work their magic and it's better than ever. The CZ Kadet 22 conversion kit is a bonus.
