hey arflattop , never part with that gun brother! my grandmother doesnt remember what happened to grandpa's 1911 that he carried at omaha beach. i think one of his sons hocked it along time ago! its a shame and i cringe at the thought

First handgun.

Given to me by my Grandpa, it was a Colt .44-40. Never had anything but black powder cartridges through it, per his instructions. Still have it, it's the only revolver I own.

Police trade-in Beretta 92F, I've tried to find another that I like better and haven't been able to do so.

The first handgun I saved and purchased was a High Standard double action, nine shot 22.

The first gun I "had" was the P08 my father brought back from WWII. I say had, because my father always said it would be mine.

I still have it today.

Even with all the others that have come and gone, I have hung on to this one to this very day.
Still shoots great!

My first handgun

My first handgun was a Smith & Wesson Model 10-5 38spl 4 inch. I really miss that gun.

If anybody happens to have one they are looking to get rid of please let me know.

My first was a POS Taurus 380 that I kept for just a few months. I sold it & turned it into my 2nd handgun that I still have -- my P7M8

I think I remember all of the handguns I've ever owned, but maybe not the order. As far as I can remember, it went HK VP70Z, Browning BDM, FN Hi-Power (this is the model I really learned to shoot with), HK USP40, Glock, Glock, Glock, Glock, Glock, you get the idea :)

First I ever fired was some kind of a Single Action 22, possibly an old three screw Ruger, but I didn't know enough back then to know. It belonged to a friends father, and we'd sneak it out to the pond and shoot at frogs with it. Note, I said "Shoot at." I don't recall ever hitting any.

The first one I ever carried was a really nice Colt 38 that was issued to me on a security job. No qualifying, no training. They just handed me the Colt, six rounds of LRN ammo, and a Sam Browne belt and holster. I sure would like to have that gun. I must have dry fired it a million times. I think it had the best trigger I've ever felt.

The first one I ever owned was the classic Smith & Wesson, Model 19 "Combat Magnum" with a 4" barrel. I still kick myself for trading it off. :banghead:

A nice little blued .22LR, and I can't recall the make. I wish I could...darned thing was nice. All I recall for sure is it was made in Brazil.

Glock 17. It's still by far my favourite gun today. But I must admit that I shot it very bad when I first got it. But I had nobody to teach me anything, so it was not really the gun's fault. But a .22 or .357/38 revolver is probably the best gun for a complete noob.
