I bought a Fiveseven about 4 months ago and after shooting it about 80 times a spring like thing fell out of the magazine well and the mag release button fell out and of course the magazine does not stay in. I sent it back to FN they fixed it and now I shot is 28 times and it did it again. They said they have never seen this before however my friend bought one and it did the same thing???? I spent a 1000 bucks on this so I called FN and they asked 3 times if I used home loads I said know the box as FN on it I bought them from Cabela's. Anyone know what to do????????? Pretty bummed with FN my beretta 92 I paid less for and shot a ton and never had a problem.:banghead:

Since it is a new gun you are going to have to let FN sort it out. I know it sucks but it happens to everyone once. The answers you get from us are not going to be the ones you want. I suppose duct taping the magazine in may help. Of course that is a temporary solution. It is under warranty. FWIW dealing with most any importers is like trying to pull teeth.

A while back someone had a 5-7 kaboom on a double charged handload. At the time the owner did not know that this is what caused it. I took the better part of a year to get it sorted out but in the end they gave him a new gun. It wasnt covered under warranty because he was using handloads but they helped him out anyway. Keep trying.

PS: that is why they keep asking you about reloaded ammunition. If you are not the original owner to the gun then it may complicate things in FNs eyes.

I have a Five Seven, and haven't experienced this. I would like to gove you advice, however. I will send you a link via PM where you should go to ask questions about this gun.

I have one as well.I have maybe 100-120 rounds through it and it has been flawless thus far.I hope your problem gets resolved.

Odd's are you will have to send it to FN and have them if it, if you and your friend got the pistols from the same place it could be a batch issue.

On a side note
It wasnt covered under warranty because he was using handloads but they helped him out anyway.

They helped him after he badmouthed FN on almost every gun forum, (including here)

In this case I would think FN would be able to help the OP and his friend. :)

Call FN. It's their issue. Make them send you a shipping label, too.....don't let up. You paid a ton of money for the thing, they can afford to be out a few extra bucks.

I had the exact same thing happen on a Ruger LCP.

I've got a FN five seven USG on order and some ammo, I'm anxious to try it out.

The concept of the fiveseven intrigued me but when i picked one up, it might as well said fischer prive on the side. The gun feels too much like a toy and i wasnt about to spend $900 on a gun that didnt feel real.

Sucks that youre having this problem. If FN refuses to repair it anymore, i would take it to a smith, have them fix it, then sell it and be rid of its problems.

IdahoLT1, you would just have to overlook that mindset. It definitely isn't a toy (obviously). To make MINE feel better, I put a slip on Hogue.

That helps with the feel. :)
