G&A magazine reviews "Extreme Shock" ammo

The legal end of a shooting is hard enough without having to explain to the jury why you decided to use "Extreme Shock!!!!!!!!" ammo.

When I start my ammo company one of my first products is going to be "Explodeamofo Big Bang BoolitZ" Each hollowpoint will contain a very tiny atomic bomb that only goes off when it hits a bad guy.

Our catchphrase will be: "Our rounds REALLY mushroom!"

"Is Gecko45 running this company from prison?"

Did ol' Gecko go to prison? Did I miss something?

I think Gunkid is the one in prison. Gecko's probably still protecting a mall from somewhere from a bunch of punk kids armed with sniper rifles chambered in .338 lapua.

This is why I don't read gun rags any more. Really, when was the last time you read a truly negative review in one? It just doesn't happen. They get advertising dollars from the same companies whose products they review, creating an instant conflict of interest.

Not having read the article I can't offer much commentary on the round other than my negative opinion of it doesn't come from my own testing, I've left that to the people that are more qualified than me, and likely the article of that article.

Take from that whatever you want. I wouldn't use it if it were free.

John Taffin gave it a postive review in either the new issue of GUNS or American Handgunner. Can't remember which, but I was somewhat horrified.

Box o' Truth did a test on this stuff some time ago:

He was tactful in his review, but the ammo was pretty underwhelming and thats evident. By any stretch, there is nothing "extreme" about it.

Sorry.Your right.I got my mall-ninja's mixed up.Does this mean I'll have to surrender my Desert Eagle .50AE,official Swat Ninja balaclava, and CCW badge? Oh lordy, I hope not.The horror...the disgrace....how will I do my neighborhood patrols, bustin perps? Can I have jt one more chnce, PLEASE? I'll do Mall of America Rapid Respose Team duty for a week if you'll let me keep my precioussssss!:D

They're not the only ones...

who have hired Gecko45 to do their ad campaign - they must have borrowed him from FireQuest!

If Gecko45 had those "fang face" rounds or some "double whammer power" perhaps he could have ended the siege at the Orange Julius with less collateral damage...

:neener:

I'm not convinced either way guys... I mean there must be something to this stuff, it being so expensive and all...

I think I'll wait till Extreme Shock comes out with a late night infommercial complete with live trials and an audience filled to the rafters with guppys clapping and ooing away.

Extreme Schlock? Fang Face - wasn't he some villianous dog side kick in a kid's cartoon that I vaguely remember.

If you look closely at the ad you will notice the WHITE hands on the black guy on the right.

Ad is made by idiots, ammo made by idiots, gunwriters are for the most part idiots who will shill anything for a buck. It does not matter if the ammo works at this point.

A couple of years ago, I swapped emails with Dan Shea, he publishes a little magazine called "Small Arms Review". I inquired how he managed to get a "flawlessly functioning" version of a well built but utterly unrealiable gun I had owned for a year and been working with the builder to correct.

He said, " We do not write articles about bad guns or run products down in print." To clarify he went on to describe how they basically work with whatever maker to sort the ONE gun they test out until it runs mostly. The reasoning is that nobody wanted to read bad news and they did not want to lose ad revenue.

I have a feeling he is following a standard industry practice.

It is pretty rare you see a negative review of something in a gun magazine. SWAT is one of the few exceptions I can think of.

You've got to like DocGKRs results in gel though - what could be better than a round that may penetrate only 4" or may get plugged up and penetrate 20" AND costs $2.15 per round? That's what I like when I pull the trigger - an extra level of uncertainty about what will happen.

When you buy a box of ammo you get that patch that says "Agent" on it.

Yep, all three are the same guy with the one on the right photoshoped to be black and yes I do think that is an airsoft M16 he has there.

It is as bad as the Calico ads. Go to the Calico web site and watch the videos of the tac dudes with tear drop sun glasses straight out of Boogie Nights!

Thanks for posting that pic, soybomb. I want everyone to see what this ammo is capable of in calibrated ballistic gel. Who cares what it does in junk-science water-filled milk jugs...

Gee, 5" of gelatin penetration and a "death cone" of Nytrillium frags - LoL - nothing extreme about that to me

I just hope this gimmick ammunition doesn't get some unsuspecting GOOD GUY killed! :(
