Several years ago I traded into a Gen 3 Glock 17 that I really didn't need, since I already had one and I prefer 19's (of which I can never have to many). I decided to do something different with it. I cut the frame to make it more compact and allow it to use Glock 19 mags (of which I have dozens). This pistol, in a serpa holster, fits nicely along with a dual Fobus mag pouch and 2 mags inside of the center console of my Jeep. A friend of mine who was in the same unit as me has a passion for modifications to polymer framed pistols like the Glock. He REALLY likes tinkering with them. Last week I handed him the cut G17 (now I call it a 19L) and told him to surprise me. He deleted the finger grooves, relieved the trigger guard, and did a more aggressive texture- enough to make it non-slip, but not so aggressive that it could be used to scale a fish or require gloves to shoot. I plan to take it out Thursday to the range.
