The Ruger LC380 would actually be a great pistol if they would give it the S treatment like the LC9S. That would be the the only real competition to the G42 (especially if they gave it the EC9S treatment and a $200 street price) but it hasn't been a big success so it may just fade away.
My little sister's concealed carry qualifying target had one lemon sized hole in the X and 10 ring of the B27R where her 50 rounds went with the G42.
I think a .380 is the right choice over 9mm in some platforms and for some shooters I certainly don't want to be in front of her Gold Dots if she starts slingin' them.
