I realize the G43X and G48 use the same exact frame, however the G48 felt better in my hand. I'm at a loss to explain why. Maybe it's the weight. I was psyched for the 43X, but might end up with the G48 instead.

It looks to be about the size of Pistole Makarova but with longer grip, perfection. I will not buy one because I upgraded recently, but Glock is going to sell tons of those.

LGS got a new 43x and a 48 in today. Both felt good in the hand, but the 48 felt better to me.

I think they would look better with a black slide instead of silver.

Actually I kind of like the new silver slide. Something different looking from the usual black on black Glock line-up.

Much like the 19X the color that immediately turned my stomach has kinda grown on me the more I see it. And I dont like stainless on anything other than a revolver.

Though I dont see picking up a 43X or 48 anyway as I dont particularily like non 1911 single stacks.

The G48 is a basically a 4mm thinner G19?

That's essentially the exact reason I chose a G36 over a G30 many years ago.

The weird thing is, after owning the slim version, I'd rather have the capacity of the thick version.

I think I'd chose the G19 over the G48 knowing how I feel about it now, and where I live of course.

Never really cared for the Glock 19; just wasn't a good fit for me. Might just have to give this new Glock 48 a try as maybe the single stack design might have a better feel to it..

Did it have the serated trigger? Every picture I've seen of them show that trigger. It aggrevates my finger, and until a flat face or after market trigger is available I'll have to wait to seriously consider it.
To tell the truth, I don’t remember. It felt like a Glock trigger.

One reason that the GLOCK 48 grip may feel better is that the longer grip fills up your hand, while the shorter 43W grip, does not.

OK, I had a chance to skip out to the range this morning with the G43x. This is a gun that I have wanted Glock to make for a long time. A bit bigger than the G43. More to hold onto. More capacity. A bit smaller than the G19. Easier to carry, but still easy to shoot. I only put 150 rounds through it. It was pouring rain. Both the gun and I were soaked. And it was cold. So…..

What I liked. It shoots pretty well. I was hoping that with the bigger grip, it would handle better than the G43 one handed. And it does.

What I didn’t like. I was hoping that it would be a bit softer shooting than the G43. Its not. Its about the same. Its not horrible, and there is more to hang onto, so I guess we're OK.

I bought a G48 in early July and I now have just over 400 rounds through it.

I really like it. Currently my warm weather concealment gun is a G43 and the cold weather concealment gun is a G19. I'm not sure the G48 will replace either gun in that role, but I really like it anyway.

I taught for a total of 13 years in the local regional police academy. I REALLY wish a Glock in this platform size would have been available 25 years ago. In every class we had two or three shooters (usually females but not always) who had small hands for whom a big service pistol with a double column magazine was too damn big. If they had S&W 59 series guns, we'd try to steer them to a S&W 39. If they had Sig 226s, we'd aim them at a P225. If they had a Beretta 92F, we would suggest a 92M. But there was never a Glock with a smaller and thinner grip we could offer as an alternative. The school had Arizona Response Systems do a grip reduction on a G17 and G19 that we used as loaner guns and that worked pretty well but a gun the size of a G48 would've worked better.

I think the G48 would make a great duty gun for shooters with small hands, presuming somebody begins to produce a suitable duty holster.

Funny,as I went to the gun shop to actually buy a G-48,then I handled the G-43X and that was what I bought.

I already own 9 Glocks [ and a 'few' other makes & brands ] so the G-43x was what I wanted,it now has 300 rounds through her and runs like poop through a goose.

Hoping they make the mentioned higher cap magazines that are supposed to be flush mounted ,but 15 rounds.

Looking at the magazine,it already looks like it could and should carry more than 10 rounds.

p.s. and one of my Glocks is a 43.

Thank you for your most informative response!

"Hoping they make the mentioned higher cap magazines that are supposed to be flush mounted ,but 15 rounds."

Check out Shield Arms. I got their +4 mag and 100+ rounds later it is my dedicated back-up mag.

I have a Ruger EC9s with the Hogue HandALL grip sleeve and it helps a lot with recoil. I took it to the range the other day for some casual shooting and decided to rent a G48 as well.

It felt great in the hand although I'm not fond of the two-tone colors. But they both shot great and there wasn't much accuracy difference between the two, they both shot just as well as the other.

They actually had an all black G48 for sale, but I'm still on the fence about getting one. I just got rid of all my Glocks, four gen 4 G23's. But if Shield Arms comes through with their S15 magazine for it, I just might have to get one.

I'm not too fond of the G43X for some reason, just seems out of proportion to me.

I don’t think I would hold my breath for Glock to add more capacity. Maybe a “Plus two”. I doubt they would even do that. Or that they could afford to. If they made a higher capacity mag and even if a few failed, the internet commandos would sleigh them. Look at the response when they came out with a silver slide. They pretty much got creamed on the internet.

If you need a small gun with a higher capacity Sig’s got you covered.

Anyone know what the price tag will be for each pistol?

We're a little expensive where I live, cost me $459+tax. I hear OK is cheaper.

I think the G48 is the result of Glock tinkering for a few decades. I used to be heck-no guy where Glocks were concerned (other than the 30/36) but now I'm on board the Glock train.
