Glock G19 vs Sig P320

I have both and the P320 is a more ergonomic pistol, IMO, with a much better trigger.

The down side is parts/accessories cost and availability. I suppose if you're not already deeply invested in the Glock system, the P320 is a great choice.

The P320 came in today and I picked it up. What a nice pistol! The one I got doesn't have night sights but did come with a holster and 2 factory magazines. The first day the weather isn't too bade here in the Northeast of PA I will take it out for a spin and post a range report.

Thanks for all the help everyone...

Congratulations!

May your new pistol serve you well. I, for one, am looking forward to the range report. :D

I have a Glock G19, one of a very few semi-auto pistols I own. I shoot it well but I just don't like it. I bought it when there was one of the ban kicks just in case. I recently found the Sig P320 but can't shoot it. Has anyone here had the opportunity to shoot both? Any comparisons? I'm mostly looking for information on the Sig. I just might have to make a trade.

I'm a Glock guy. I also have a VP9 that is awesome and that I shoot better than the Glocks. I rented a full size P320 a few weeks ago and it was terrible for me. It's natural point of aim in my hands was so low I couldn't see the front sight when I brought it up on target. I have never (yet) handled any other pistol that was so far off on point of aim.

I'm interested in the range report

Also looking forward to the range report.

My Glock 19 came in last night. Went and paid for it, now I'm waiting "up to 5 days" to bring it home.

Disclaimer: Not a Glock guy. Have owned, for long periods, the 17, 19 and 23 -- was issued the 23 by a previous employer -- never adapted to the Glock grip angle, while I thought the triggers were decent, the platform simply doesn't point well for me.

Recently picked up a SIG P-320 Carry in 9mm. Whoa Nellie! (As Keith Jackson used to say) A great striker-fired pistol trigger, the best I've ever shot (and I currently use the S&W M&P for work). Points well, truly ergonomic grip, accurate as every SIG normally is ... Did I mention the great trigger?

I'm fairly impressed by this pistol. After 20 years of experimenting with the Glocks, XD/XDs pistols and M&Ps off and on, I may finally become a fan of a striker-fired pistol.

My experience has been the same. I have shot a variety of striker-fired pistols over the years including a variety of Glocks, Springfield XDs, Smith and Wesson M&Ps and the occasional FNH, but I never warmed up to any of them enough to desire to own one. Until I tried a SIG P320 .40 full-size I came across as a range rental.

I would like to be able to like Glocks due to their widespread availability and aftermarket support. And I can shoot them moderately well. I could probably adapt pretty well to the spongy trigger action, and I realize the triggers are easily modified. I hate the crappy stock plastic sights, but the sights can be changed fairly easily at not outrageous expense.

But I don't like the grip angle, don't care to adjust to it, hate the feel of the flat-sided grips, don't like the finger grooves or the big, fat palm swells, and I doubt that I could every shoot them as accurately as I to the P320 regardless of how much time I spent trying.

Sorry it took so long for the range report. I really like this pistol. I fired about 100 rounds and it performer flawlessly. I shot 6 different loads including my reloads, FMJ factory ammo and Winchester Silvertips. Perfect. This Sig is very easy to disassemble and clean. I like the lever system for disassemble. The finish looks very durable as with most current semi autos. The trigger is as good as everyone says, very nice.

While I could not fire the P320 any more accurately than the G19 I did like the feel in my hand better as I suspected. I like the grip angle much better. The P320 is slightly heavier but I really didn't notice in the holster. This pistol may not be for everyone but it is for me. Anything I left out, just ask.

The Glock 19 doesn't feel all that great in my hands, but I shoot them very well.

Glock 19s are like that.

I bought the compact which is the middle size pistol.
For the benefit of other readers who might not be familiar with the 320 sizing, there are actually 4 different sizes...Full Size, Carry, Compact, and Sub-Compact.

The Combat model has the Compact length slide and Full Size Grip module

Thanks. I haven't done any research on prices, but that sounds like a pretty good deal. I have to admit that I find the P320 very interesting, particularly its modular design. If it had been on the market when I was shopping for a polymer 9mm, I'm not sure I'd own my G19.
