I swear. We gun nuts are some of the nicest folks.

Head over to Lake CIty with two buddies to see the folks and hit the state-run, open air range. We get to the range, which is packed. We work our way to the far end of the right 25m range. A sizeable group of guys are at the other end of the bench from us. We set up. Line hot, I start sighting in my new AR and the red-dot I put on the AK. Ed's shooting an SKS, and Karlo has his Sig 228. This is important to remember.

After a while, we here bratatatatatatatatat.

*perk*

The other guys have full-auto toys.

We go back to shooting. One of the guys at the other end yells something, and we think he's asking for a "line cold". We signal a-okay. He clarifies asking us to hold shooting while they listen to the silenced weapons.

*PERK* Silenced...full...auto...weapons...

Such a sweet non-sound! M11, MP5SD, M4...all silenced, all auto.

Okay, anyways, they finish, we finish, and line goes cold. Out at the targets, one of the guys comes over and says that if we have any 9mm, come on over and shoot. :what:

Remember Karlo's 228? Its 9mm. He's got a box of Winchester value pack ready to go. We trot/run down to their end of the bench.

Needless to say....I want an MP5SD now.

Much thanks to those guys and their sharing of toys!

The Osceola National Forest Range? That's where I'm planning to bring my shooting club - once I finish starting the club up. Look for a bunch of college kids learning how to shoot one weekend a month. :D

Yes, it is the Osceola range near Watertown lake. Great little range...a bit soggy today after all the rains.

That's a good thing to do mulliga. Try to get as many people involved safely with firearms and shooting fun. I have a range with a couple benches and a skeet range behind my house that I always bring people from work to and teach them how to shoot. That's the only way the sport will stay alive is to get new people involved. And it's fun to do too. Remember safety at all times tho! :D

I was shooting a buddy's silenced Uzi with a (subsonic) 22 barrel on it the other day - talk about quiet - I could shoot that in my back yard and the neighbors would not hear it at all!
