For the noviceses out there like myself: Here is what I had to do get my surplus '03 floor plate to release (That had been recovered from Greece by CMP.) I tried to punch out the pin they had made holes for . . . and inserted, . . . . . It would not budge. I drilled it out ! Now the floor plate release is functional. View attachment 924553
 
The trick is to depress the floorplate release (in a vise?) while drifting out the brass pin. The pinned floorplate, along with a "B" stamped on it, is a characteristic of the Greek returns. As to why they made this modification, obviously they didn't want their troops removing, and possibly losing, the floorplates. Remember that the 03A3's, also supplied to the Greeks, didn't have removable floorplates.
