I've been reading commentary about ethics and morals in hunting, here and at TFL since 1998. We're somewhere around 99.99% in a strong belief that any killing oughta be as quick and free of suffering as is possible.
"No suffering" comments are thus pretty much irrelevant to anything. It's just preaching to the choir and can be interpreted as arrogance, whether or not that's intended.
As far as "Dominon"? Tom Lehrer said it best (CD available from Amazon): "It's not against any religion, to want to dispose of a pigeon..."
