SPEAR grass, have not looked for ant lately, wonder if it's bygone? We used to pick it throw it each other, catch horny toads. It was rumored they could SHOOT blood out of it's eye.

Gun Stuff You No Longer See

Ads in the back of magazines for guns delivered to your door via the USPS without regulations

Kids bringing their guns to school on their bikes because they were going hunting on the way home and either the Principal or their teacher kept them safe during the day

Gun rags with HONEST gun reviews not influenced by ad pages

Guns generally painted in a positive way in the media

Private label Bolt action shotguns. Sears, Penny's, Montgomery Ward, would sell them. Many a country boy's first was one of these.

tacmedic94: "Being able to run around the neighborhood hiding in other peoples yards, trees, and bushes while carrying toy rifles and playing ''war.''"

Those were the days. I had a Mattel Thunderburp Tommygun look-alike for WWII games. We also made a Lewis gun from a baseball bat with a section of can as a drum magazine, and Springfield rifles from tobacco stakes, and re-enacted Sgt York in WWI.

In Santa Rosa CA recently a boy was returning a friend's airsoft rifle to him, walking past a field where the neighborhood kids played with their airsoft guns, when a cop pulled up behind him, challenged him, and shot him dead when he turned with the rifle in his hands.

After fifty years of hate gun speech starting in the 1960s, it is a whole different world out there. http://nation.time.com/2013/10/25/toy-guns-deadly-consequences/

Sorry, I didn't wade through all the pages, but...

I miss mail order catalogs from Herter's, Waseca, MN.

I forgot open carrying my Remington 514 down to the YMCA to shoot in their indoor range.
