Have you given away anything gun related recently?

I did give some brass on the PIF and a couple slip top plastic boxes.

I've given a few guns, most recently a marlin 60 to a friend. But it was 4 or 5 years now.

I've also had some blessings. Had a guy trade me 2:1 pistol primers for shotshell primers. His terms.

Got 2 coffee cans of 357 magnum brass. Looks like I have a buyer lined up for the gp100 though so I never got to load it.

I don't usually give away anything gun. I did give my daughter a couple hundred rounds of 22lr ammo the other day. She just bought her first handgun. Heritage rough rider. The dealer had no ammo.

I have gifted about 20 guns and a lot of ammo to my two sons, three grandsons, brother, and daughterinlaw over the past 20+ years.
The last being this Bearcat Ruger to my you gest grandson (age 11) for his birthday last year.
The most excited my sons were over gun gifts were the AR15s they received for Christmas several years ago along with 10 magazines and 500 rounds of ammo each.
But the most sentimental one was the Ruger Blackhawk .357 & rig I gave to my oldest son for his 50th birthday four years ago. I had bought it new in 1968, the year he was born.

it gives me great pleasure to gift these nice firearms to my loved ones and to see them enjoy using them.
Plus it makes more space in my safe for new acquisitions.

Do I spy a Pentagram T-shirt?

I gave a friend 1,000 shotgun primers the other day that I had acquired with some other purchases.

I load rifles and pistols, but don't mess with shotgun reloading, at least not yet.

The timing of this is interesting. I did indeed give a lot away recently. I did a big purge this winter of the reloading stuff. things were just getting cluttered. and I tore through it with a vengeance. When I was done I had a couple boxes of stuff to go. I did end up with powder that I sold, and some I gave away including one old can of alcan 7 that I sent on a PIF. About a month ago I sent a big box with 10 or so older promags, 2 sets of neck sizer dies and an extra universal decap die, a bunch of lee reloading gear from my early days, an AR soft case, a brick and a half of primers, a few part cans of powder that I dabbled with from the last shortage, a TacSol 22 conversion kit for a 1911, some extra magazines for pistols I no longer have, and a host of straps, slings, and holsters plus another box of AR furniture and factory take offs that I have acquired over the years. Sent it all to my LGS and told them whatever could be sold, sell and give the money to the local club, and whatever they thought might not be worth selling to leave on a shelf in a give away pile.

I stopped by the other day and surprisingly enough, it was all gone. Ended up generating something like $500 for the JR smallbore rifle club. Found out the LGS also doled out the primers in 100 packs to people who wanted to get started in reloading, so they kinda did a PIF for me as well.

as a side note - There was enough interest that the club is going to start having a regular "how to reload" class, so I will be volunteering my time once a month down at the indoor range to do some demos. One advantage is that since we'll be right there, they can function test load strings right away.

All in all, I was just happy to get some shelf and closet space back.

@Armybrat, your photo. One of the guys appears to be wearing a Pentagram shirt. I'm guessing he's a fan of the band.
Oh, that’s my oldest grandson. I have no idea what his music tastes are, except they are most likely different than mine. (Waylon, Willie, Queen, Beach Boys, Dion & the Belmonts, etc.)

i gifted him my S&W Model 34 when he was 16, then more recently a RM380 which is his EDC (he’s 29 now). B0A1E0EE-E483-4838-B372-23707C1C7CB2.jpeg

I've been thinning out some of my stuff lately. I gave one Son a Pre64 Model 70 with a 3.5-10 Leupold VX3 scope. The other Son got a nice Sako in 300 Winchester with a 4.5-14 Leupold VX3 scope. The oldest Grandson got a Remington 700 Classic in 308. I gave a shooting buddy a pound of Hodgdon Benchmark powder recently. Another shooting buddy got 500 cast Keith SWC bullets for a 41 Magnum plus powder and primers that we loaded together. I gave another shooting buddy a PMA neck expander die with a mandrel. I just put a small flat rate box of soft lead ingots in the mail to a member of another site that I'm on. And I just mailed off about a dozen pieces of brass to a member on another site for his collection. The last weekend of Deer season I gave a buddies Niece a couple boxes of 223 ammo so She could take Her Nephew hunting. He killed his first Deer! :) Probably some lesser stuff that I'm forgetting.

My neighbor needed some powder to load 44 mag. I asked him how much. Just enough to load a dozen he said. I told him give me the brass. I loaded them with 10 grains of unique. 240 grain coated cast. He shot that load before. And i remember how he liked it.
Powder supply was so low he didn't have enough to load 12 cartridges? That's scraping bottom of the barrel.
