If I were you...I'd check out the XD-9, read some reviews on the XD's and I think you might find them to be a superior firearm...

Another vote for CZ
If you want full size, then you have a broad range of 9mm in the new and used market.
75's are very good guns- used widely all over the world by Law Enforcement.
85 combat gives you ambi controls on the same platform
CZ100 gives you a modern polymer alternative with striker fire, etc. Similar to Glock, Springer, and others.

I work very hard to not be a brand whore and try to be objective. And, I like to play with all the toys I can. But, where price, function, quality, and service after the sale meet, it's extremely difficult to outmatch what CZ offers.

And, I'm not just saying "do what I do" arbitrarily. Czech around and see what people think of CZ's quality, value, and service. Do a search here, on Thefiringline.com and at czforums.

My two personal favs are the S & W 639...awesome as well as the Sig 225. I owned a G17 first gen for 20 years. It's a great double stack, but the trigger on the G17 cannot compare to the 639 and 225 (my opinion). The CZ 75 is probably one of the best guns on the market.

I vote M&P 9. Around $580 with a $50 rebate and two free mags (by mail). I'm really happy with mine.

Yikes, thats pretty high. You can get them at Budsgunshop for 439 shipped, and cdnn currently has them for 400. Add another 12 or so to ship and 20-25 for a FFL transfer, and after the rebate your looking at something like 380.

I think you're on the right track. Can't go wrong with any of the guns you are looking at .
Personally, I have a CZ75 that I bought in Germany before they were imported into the U.S. I also have a G19 and a Browning HP. I like 'em all.

Among those listed in the thread, I'd go 226, and it wouldn't even be close.
