How bad were you at the gun store for Black Friday - Cyber Monday?

Okay, seriously, I think I went a bit overboard... I'd been wanting to pick up a few things for a while now, and I decided I'd watch their prices through the start of the shopping season. The thing is, most of what I was looking for ended up on sale at prices I don't normally see. So, I ended up getting myself:

A new match barrel
A new ultralight carbon fiber hand guard for one of my rifles
A nice new Trijicon scope
Equipment to start Cerakoting at home
Some gunsmithing tools
Some bulk ammo
A divorce (okay, just kidding, the wife is still here -- I put up with her horses so she puts up with my hobbies)

These were all things I'd been eyeing for a while (well, not the divorce - kinda like the lady), and they were definitely priced competitively compared to normal prices. I think I "saved" around $850 overall, but I'm not sure that saving money is how I'd describe this week.

So, how did you guys go with gun-related purchases for yourself this holiday season?

Didn't buy a single thing. If I don't have cash, and I don't, then I don't buy. I've been building a 308 AR for a couple of years now because I work on a cash and carry principal. I've been out of debt for a few years now and am not going back in now. Not preaching, that is just where I am at.

Hi...
Nothing really gun related..
Just a few supplies for the first day of deer season...hand warmers, new wool socks and a neck gaiter.
Probably won't buy much gun related stuff until after the Christmas holiday.
Planning on having my son build me an AR15 starting in January... parts will be acquired on a when I have the cash basis.
I don't go in debt for firearm related purchases.
He has built a couple for himself so he knows what he is doing and understands what components are worth paying a premium for.
If this build goes well and I can wring the accuracy that I want out of the rifle, then I may have him build an AR10 in , most probably, .308.

I was so good that my retirement account is petitioning the Holy See to have me beatified.

I didn't set foot in a store.....but I did order a few things online.....nothing on sale just stuff that I needed like a 44 sp/mag caliber conversion for my Dillon 550b, a few ammo boxes and a few thousand bullets.

I don't go to stores either, I am xenophobic, allergic, contaigous or what ever other excuse gets me out of it.

Not to be one to hold on to flaming money, I did buy a pound of HP thirty eight, ordered a thousand two hundred grain SWCs from Acme, a Dinotrux and Rep-tool and a Hand made Zebra wood Ukulele.

Mele Kalikimaka!

Wow, you guys are far more boring on this subject than I expected! ;)

Like some of you, I actually did all of my shopping online as well, because I'm not about to waste a holiday weekend going to the stores. While I did buy a bunch of stuff, it was all things on my "to buy" list... it just happened that they all went on sale at approximately the same time. I only buy on a cash basis as well... I had the cash on hand for this round of purchases, so I got some packages to watch for in the mail!

That's a perfectly valid idea that I perfectly support! I went through many years of eating Ramen noodles and living on a shoestring budget so that I could be 100% debt-free. Now that I am, I'm already accustomed to living pretty frugally. As a result, it seems amazing how much extra cash I have each month... I still save a lot, but give myself the occasional indulgence for my hobbies. Seriously, keep up what you're doing and I doubt you'll have any regrets in the long run! I've actually been trying to encourage some of my friends to do the same thing.

Nope. Nothing on Black Friday or on cyber Monday.

But...

I’m as addicted to gunbroker.com as Aunt Mary is to the QVC channel. And some great auctions can be found at times when the rest of the world is occupied. Like Thanksgiving Day.

I found a SIG P226 DOA West German model & a S&W 59 at prices I couldn’t pass up. And last night there was a Chinese SKS in my price range - - - & I didn’t have an SKS. I’ve been bad. My gun budget is shot for months. Nothing says Happy Thanksgiving like more guns!

I searched online and found a lot of great deals on gun parts, but only ended up buying $140 in gun parts on Cyber Monday.
I also don’t spend money I don’t have, but I’ve been debt free, pretty much, for the last 14 years.

I was in an Academy in Orlando on Black Friday and the gun counter was swamped.

Luckily, I was there looking at fishing gear,

Bought a micro dot from Primary Arms, one of the incorrectly machined ones for $70, I couldn't pass it up.
Bought a FX-9 9mm "AR" pistol.
Bought a gun safe.
Agreed to buy a Marlin 1894 .357 from a friend.

I'm done for a while. Quite a while.
