Hey all, i was just curious as to how many EDC knives you carry, and what purpose they all serve.

i currently pack my benchmade 550(i think it's 550[3.4" blade, drop point, stainless finish]) only- it's an all purpose knife, but i may start packing my CRKT 2.75" Point Guard along with the Benchmade so as not to scare the sheeple.

I usually have one in my strong-side pocket (Camillus Cuda EDC/BM AFCK/CRKT M-16/13), and two in my 'man purse' (CRKT Mirage, Leaterman). I consider (& use) them primarily as tools, but with PD capability.

I have one that opens boxes, envelopes, cuts stuff, prys stuff, sees duty as make shift screwdriver and cleans my fingernails.

I have another I save for flesh.

Smoke

Two- Spyderco Dragonfly for everyday use and a Benchmade Mini-AFCK for non- ordinary uses. Three if you count the blade in the Leatherman Micra that is...

lpl/nc

Normally 2. Benchmade 42 in the right front, Emerson LaGriffe in the left front.

I carry a Leatherman wave, a cheap, tiny chinese folder that my grandma gave me before she died, and either my 6" manual godfather or my A-F dagger.

Spyderco Worker does most cutting.

Cold Steel XL Voyager Tanto is for emergencies. ;)

SOG Paratool is for really nasty/tough jobs. I can replace the blades if I break one or otherwise really mess it up.

Small Swiss Army knife carried mostly for the scissors, but the blade is handy for small stuff that requires EXTREME sharpness.

I also carry a little Swisstech UtiliKey with a knife blade. Don't use that blade for anything, I carry it for the small philips head screwdriver that's built into it.

Benchmade 10300 Monochrome serrated IWB at 3:00 and Case Russlock in strong side pocket. Also, Buck 110 or some other large lockblade I've collected through the years in each drivers' side map pocket in my vehicles, and Leatherman Micra on keychain. Oh yeah, Victorinox Tinker in briefcase unless I'm travelling thru airports.

2 -
Benchmade Mini Griptillian and a Leatherman Squirt P4.

When hunting or camping it's 3. The two above mentioned and a Bark River K&T Woodsman or a Becker BK7.

I carry a Swiss Army knife and a Emerson CQC-8 or Commander, both waved. The SAK is in my left front pocket (below the holster with the spare mag and Surefire), the Emerson on the right, below the Kimber.

I usually have 2 or 3.

Always with me are a Microtech LCC clipped on my right pocket and a Victorinox Super Tinker in my left front pocket. The SAK gets most of the use. I used to only carry the LCC and it got all the use, but it doesn't do much now except for riding around waiting for a time it is needed (PD or when the SAK is dull).

Usually I have a small Victorinox classic on my keys, but often it gets taken off for nail trimming and left in the house :uhoh:

Normally, two.
I carry a Spyderco as a money clip and then my primary knife which changes with my mood.
At work I carry those two plus a Leatherman tool which has knife in it.

2-3

"...EDC knives..." A what? One old, Swiss Army knife. It's a tool. If you get into a situation where a knife is your only defense, you've done something far worse than you have if a handgun is your only defense.

EDC = every day carry

Usually two. A plain edge delica IWB @10 o'clock, and an Endura Wave clipped in the right front pocket.

Shrade all purpose bag opener in my front pocket, leatherman on the belt and fixed blade sharp finger in the cab of the truck.

Recently due to a dog attack when my hands were full I've started carrying a knockoff switchblade clipped to my right front pocket.
Next gun show I'll be looking into buying one a little better made

I voted for (1). However, if you include my truck, then it's a little more involved. For normal stuf, I've always got either a Mini-Grip or a Mini-AFCK.

However, in the truck, I've got:

Center console -

Buck Model 110
Leatherman Charge XTi

Behind Rear Seats in small hunting backpack -

Leatherman - One of the original knuckle-cutter types
Randall Model 3

I've also normally got a HI WWII Khukri in the back, which is used for clearing shooting lanes on our hunting lease and splitting firewood when camping.

I just lost my EDC. It was a buck half serrated, but it had a liner lock. It's the one I cut the end of my thumb off with about 3 years ago. I'll miss it.

Kershaw Ken Onion Boa that I bought from a friend for $80 and just had professionally sharpened this weekend for another $8.50. I enjoy it immensely.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that rates a knife by how well it removes body parts.

I bought a cheap Tomahawk brand "tactical" knife a few years ago for a all purpose truck tool.
While I was goofing around with it I slipped and cut the tip of my bird finger off, I never really even felt it.
Since then I have always liked the knife for being razor sharp and holding it's edge relatively well

always carry a tac folder on duty. for "cutting seat belts". ive always carried some kind of pocket knife, theyre just handy to have.

The knife or the end of your thumb?
heh. The end of my thumb grew back, more or less, but it took a loooonnng time. I was in a hurry putting up Christmas decorations one year, SWMBO was quacking at me about something, and I closed the knife (liner lock) quickly and forcefully. After a couple of hours it wouldn't stop bleeding, so she took me to the ER.

We were scheduled to go to Las Vegas the next day. I looked goofy walking around playing slots with a cup of quarters in one hand, and my gauze wrapped thumb sticking up from the other hand.

Considering the Benchmade half-serrated tanto point (don't know the model no.) with the axis lock to replace it.
